Jeremy Clarkson has decided to sell his recently purchased £85,000 Lamborghini tractor at an auction in Cambridgeshire, just months after acquiring the vehicle for his Diddly Squat Farm.

The former Top Gear presenter offloaded the green tractor at Cheffins auction house in Sutton, near Ely, on Monday, June 9. Clarkson revealed to attendees that he decided to sell the imposing machine due to numerous electrical issues.

The tractor, which features a 7.8-litre engine and 340 brake horsepower, had been prominently featured in a recent episode of his Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm.

During the programme, viewers watched Clarkson test numerous tractors whilst his partner Lisa Hogan and farmhand Harrier Cowan looked on with evident concern. Hogan stated that choosing a new tractor was "filling me with absolute dread".

Despite her apprehension, Clarkson ultimately purchased the massive green Lamborghini tractor for £85,000. The acquisition left his Clarkson's Farm co-star and farm manager, Kaleb Cooper, gobsmacked at the hefty price tag.

Land agent Charlie Ireland was similarly dismayed, furious the former Top Gear host had made the purchase without his say-so and with 3,000 hours already racked up on the clock.

The purchase decision had been a source of anxiety for the 65-year-old presenter, who admitted on the show that making a choice about a new tractor was causing him considerable stress.

At the auction, Clarkson was spotted alongside Cooper and a film crew. A 31-year-old engineer who attended the sale expressed his surprise at seeing the presenter there.

"It was fantastic. I was so surprised to see him there," the fan, who wished to remain anonymous, said. "I was getting a coffee, and someone said he was there. I turned around and realised I was right near his tractor."

The engineer, who described himself as a "massive fan", added: "It was amazing! I watched every episode of Top Gear with my dad and every episode of Clarkson's Farm with my son."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Clarkson plans to bring his old Lamborghini tractor out of retirement following the sale. He famously owns a Lamborghini Trattori R8 270 DCR that he purchased second-hand for £40,000, though it remains unclear if this is the specific model he intends to resurrect.

Cheffins auction house posted a video on Instagram showcasing the tractors available at Monday's auction, including the green Lamborghini.

When one social media user asked, "Is that Clarkson's Lamborghini?", a dozen people responded with thumbs-up emojis, confirming the vehicle's identity at the sale.

Clarkson's challenging experience with the tractor was far from the only tumultuous relationship the farm owner experienced in the latest series of Clarkson's Farm.

With all eight episodes now available on Amazon Prime Video, fans have been able to witness the stress caused by Clarkson's desire to open his own Cotswolds pub.

The former Grand Tour star not only clashed with pub consultants Sue and Rachel Hawkins, who ended up quitting after just two days, but his opening weekend was plagued with plumbing issues, kitchen chaos, leaking roofs, staff exits, electrical blackouts, and many more challenges.

Combined with the tiring task of harvesting his farm at the same time, Clarkson believes the stress of that period contributed to his emergency heart surgery just a few weeks later.

Season four had wrapped up filming prior to Clarkson's health scare last year, but with season five in the pipeline, he's ensured fans will be fully updated with how he's been since.

In the meantime, his trusty builder Alan Townsend revealed in the show's latest finale that he was facing the daunting prospect of a heart operation, something that left him "frightened to death".

However, Townsend has since taken to social media since season four aired to assure fans everything went well and he's on the mend.
