Oscar-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis became visibly distressed and struggled to fight back tears whilst discussing the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a recent podcast appearance.
Mr Kirk was shot dead during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been arrested by law enforcement as the lead suspect.
Ms Curtis unexpectedly shifted the conversation during her appearance on Marc Maron's WTF Podcast on Monday to address Mr Kirk's assassination.
Despite their stark political differences, Ms Curtis characterised the 31-year-old Turning Point USA co-founder as "a father and a husband and a man of faith."
The emotional moment occurred during what began as a discussion about classic films, with Ms Curtis pivoting to the topic because it was "front of mind."
Ms Curtis fought back tears as she acknowledged her fundamental disagreement with Kirk's political positions, stating: "I disagreed with him on almost every point I ever heard him say."
Nevertheless, she expressed hope that the conservative commentator experienced spiritual comfort in his final moments.
"I believe he was a man of faith, and I hope in that moment when he died, that he felt connected with his faith," Ms Curtis said through audible sobs.

The actress, known for her liberal political stance, added: "Even though his ideas were abhorrent to me. I still believe he's a father and a husband and a man of faith. And I hope whatever connection to God means that he felt it."
The actress drew parallels between footage of Mr Kirk's killing and repeated broadcasts of the September 11 attacks, noting the podcast recording occurred shortly after the anniversary.
"I know there is a video of his assassination. I know people who've seen it," Ms Curtis stated, comparing the circulation of such content to watching the Twin Towers collapse repeatedly.
She highlighted how modern society faces constant exposure to disturbing imagery, warning about unknown psychological consequences.
"Today, we as a society are bombarded with imagery. So we don't know what the longitudinal effects of seeing those towers come down over and over and over and over again, or watching his execution over and over and over again," she explained.
Ms Curtis expressed particular distress about the psychological effects of viewing violent content repeatedly, questioning what such exposure does to society.
"We are inured to them and we are numb to them, but they are in there. We don't know enough psychologically about what that does," she said.
"I don't ever want to see this footage of this man being shot."
Ms Curtis' ability to set aside political differences to pay a heartfelt tribute to Mr Kirk is a stark contrast to how other stars and the Left have reacted.
Social media has become awash in the past week with vile reactions from Mr Kirk's critics, seemingly celebrating his assassination.
Music duo Bob Vylan hit headlines after lead singer Bobby Vylan called Mr Kirk a "piece of s***" and said his pronouns were "was/were" while performing in Amsterdam.
He sparked controversy further when he released a video claiming he didn't "celebrate" Mr Kirk's death despite evidence to the contrary.
Elsewhere, Bake Off star Nadiya Hussain came under fire for her comments on Mr Kirk's death, calling him a "bigot" in an Instagram post.
Ms Curtis has been widely praised online for her reaction to Mr Kirk's death. On X, a number of the political activist's fans applauded Ms Curtis for her "human" reaction to his shooting.
