James Corden, Neil Patrick Harris and Bobby Cannavale are set to return to Broadway this autumn in the first-ever revival of Yasmina Reza's Tony Award-winning play "Art".
The production will begin previews at the Music Box Theatre on August 28, 2025, with an official opening night on September 16.
The comedy about friendship, taste and ego will run for a limited 17-week engagement, concluding on December 21, 2025.
This marks a significant return to the Broadway stage for all three actors, who have previously won acclaim for their theatrical performances
"Art" follows three longtime friends whose relationship is tested when one of them purchases an expensive, completely white painting. What begins as a debate over modern art quickly spirals into deeper tensions about friendship, ego and taste.
The play was originally written in French by Yasmina Reza and translated into English by Christopher Hampton. It premiered in Paris in 1994 before making its Broadway debut in 1998, where it won the Tony Award for Best Play.
The original Broadway production starred Alan Alda, Victor Garber and Alfred Molina, running for 600 performances. This revival marks the first time the acclaimed comedy returns to Broadway since its initial run.
The star is heading back to the US for the new project
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
In the production, Harris will play Serge, the character who buys the expensive painting, whilst Cannavale will portray Marc, who believes the artwork is a waste of money. Corden will take on the role of Yvan, the peacemaker of the trio.
This will be Harris's first full Broadway production since his Tony Award-winning performance in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" in 2014. Similarly, Corden hasn't appeared on Broadway since his Tony-winning role in "One Man, Two Guvnors" in 2012.
Cannavale, a two-time Tony nominee for his performances in "Mauritius" (2009) and "The Motherf**ker with the Hat" (2011), last appeared on Broadway in 2018's "The Lifespan of a Fact".
The production will be directed by Scott Ellis, a nine-time Tony Award nominee who is currently represented on Broadway with "Pirates! The Penzance Musical".

The revival is being produced by Sand & Snow Entertainment (Michael Shulman), ATG Productions and Gavin Kalin Productions.
"On behalf of my partners Adam Speers, Gavin Kalin, and myself, we are thrilled to be producing the first-ever Broadway revival of this iconic Tony-Award winning play with three iconic, award-winning actors," said producer Michael Shulman.
"Ever since I first saw the original production, it has been etched into my mind as a hysterical and moving portrayal of friendship, compromise, and the power of art to change perspectives."
The design team for the production will be announced at a later date.
Tickets for "Art" will go on sale to the general public on May 30 at 10am, with a fan pre-sale beginning a day earlier on May 29 at 10am for those who sign up in advance online.
The revival promises to bring fresh energy to Reza's acclaimed comedy, which explores the complexities of friendship through the lens of artistic taste.
The How I Met Your Mother star will also have a leading role
