The 32-year-old was quick to disagree with Chris Hughes' positive take on the Union Jack

Drag performer Danny Beard left fans fuming during Tuesday's Celebrity Big Brother episode after they slammed the Union Jack flag.

The "anti-British" remarks came as the remaining housemates enjoyed a traditional British tea party complete with decorations themed around the de facto national flag of the United Kingdom.

The celebration came after American singer and dancer JoJo Siwa passed a "secret mission" to find out all she could about British culture, although she didn't realise at the time she was being tricked.

The 21-year-old was told by Big Brother: "Your mission is to learn as much about British culture and traditions from the other housemates so you can pass your test. JoJo you must keep this test a secret."

Meanwhile, the other famous faces were informed: "Housemates, JoJo is currently in the Diary Room where she has been told she is taking part in a secret task to pass Big Brother's British citizenship test.

"As a group, your secret mission is to make sure she fails her test by feeding her misinformation about all things British."

The group soon began to fill Siwa's head with false information about Brits, leading to some comical conversations.

Thankfully for the group, Siwa believed each claim and passed the challenge, relaying all her collected "information" to Big Brother.

As the housemates later donned Union Jack hats and waved flags, performer Beard, 32, quipped: "Scone or scone, dear Patsy? That's the question."

Singer Chesney Hawkes joked: "One minute it's there, next minute it's scone."

"Do you guys do cream first or the jam first?" Siwa asked, prompting the classic debate.

"Jam," actress comedian Donna Preston replied, with Love Island star Chris Hughes disagreeing: "Cream then jam, I do."

"Yeah, cream and then jam," reality star Ella Rae Wise chimed, leading Beard to claim: "That's wrong, cream on jam is weird."

"It's all going in the same way though, surely," 24-year-old The Only Way Is Essex (Towie) star Wise argued.

Picking up one of the flags and giving it a wave, Hughes, 32, commented: "It's a great flag, isn't it?"

"It's f***ing not," Beard hit back, with Hughes insisting: "No, this is a great flag."

"Oh, you're such a Tory," Beard remarked in response, with their disapproval sparking a backlash online.

On X, one viewer fumed: "F*** off if you don’t like it Danny #CBBUK," along with a Union Jack flag emoji.

"Danny... you’re such a Tory?? No just proud brits, I’m disappointed in you now #CBBUK," another penned.

"How is being proud of our great country ‘being a Tory’? #CBBUK," someone else asked.

Another raged: "That's me done with Danny. Disliking the British flag and assuming it's only for Tory voters. #CBBUK."

"Why does liking the union jack make you a Tory Danny. It's our national flag #CelebrityBigBrother #CBB," another shared.

Some stressed that Beard was likely joking and urged viewers not to take the comments so seriously, with one person posting: "The Tory comment wasn't that deep. Most of what Danny says is light-hearted & sassy, chillllllll #cbbuk." (sic)
