The celebratory event is known for its weird and wonderful fashion statements, and this year was no different

Celebrities from across the music industry recently descended on London for the BRIT awards, and ahead of the ITV coverage of the ceremony, some bizarre outfits caused a stir not long into the show.

With an array musical sensations set to win big and others performing at the glitzy event, big faces dressed to the nines were seen arriving at the O2 Arena, and as the red carpet arrivals continued to be aired ahead of the show, some were definitely less glamorous than others.

Comedian Rob Beckett took a different approach to the traditionally luxurious outfits showcased at the awards, and instead dressed up as a giraffe for the prestigious event, standing out from the crowd in the huge inflatable costume.

The 38-year-old presenter posed for pictures as the famous names turned up on the red carpet, with just his face and arms visible.

He could be seen enjoying himself and entertaining the crowds as he showed the back legs on the outfit, lifting them off the ground and laughing.

Fans tuned into the ITV2 Red Carpet coverage were left baffled by the strange outfit choice, with many taking to X, formerly Twitter, to question why he'd made the unique dressing decision.

One asked: "Why is rob beckett dressed as a giraffe at the brits?" as another penned: "I was just wondering if there was any context i was missing."

"How hilarious," one unimpressed viewer commented, while another joked: "Rob Beckett, giraffes are so last season hun. I'll be slaying at the #BRITs as a unicorn #sorrynotsorry."

"Rob Beckett is apparently dressed as a Giraffe?? #BRITs ," another shared, along with a snap of the Toys R Us mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe.

While some were confused by the decision, others applauded Beckett for making an entrance, with one writing: "its rob beckett hes iconic." (sic)

While it's unclear why he chose to go as a giraffe, many have pointed out it could be because the comedian's upcoming tour is called Giraffe.

Among the star-studded guests expected at the ceremony were the likes of band Kylie, Charli XCX and Raye, with many hoping to get their hands on some awards.

Raye has broken records with seven nominations at this year’s BRITs, and one is for her album, My 21st Century Blues, which was released in February last year.

It’s the 26-year-old’s first album since leaving record label Polydor two years before after the company refused to release the album.

As well as her never-before-seen seven nominations, Raye is set to perform at the BRIT awards.

Others heading to the stage on the big night include Becky Hill with Chase & Status, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding, Dua Lipa, Jungle, Tate McRae, Rema and Kylie Minogue.

Swifties may be left disappointed as some new data has suggested she might be robbed of a hat-trick BRIT Award. Gambling.com’s TV betting analyst Charlie Mullan explained: “Often when an act performs at the ceremony, there is a very good chances they will win an award.

“Kylie Minogue will perform on Saturday night, and the Australian is guaranteed to pick up one award - the Global Icon award. But will she pick up another for best international artist?"
