Breathtaking highlighted the sacrifices made by NHS staff during the Covid pandemic

ITV’s Breathtaking viewers were left furious during the last episode of the series tonight after they claimed the broadcaster “failed” to show a vast majority of what happened during the coronavirus pandemic.

The three-part drama has left many of its viewers heartbroken and struggling to get through the series after brining back “traumatic” memories.

During the episode, the NHS dealt with a new Covid-19 winter wave after former Prime Minister Boris Johnson allowed “Christmas bubbles”.

The pressure became unmanageable for the team, forcing Abbey (played by Joanne Froggatt) to take action and voice the pandemic’s full effect on the NHS.

Despite the praise it has received online, some viewers were furious with one X user commenting: “I see that #BREATHTAKING failed to show any of the b******t #NHSDance #NHSTikTok dances that were happening in hospitals up and down the country while in the midst of an apparent ‘Pandemic’ anyone who still believes in #Covid #Covid19 #Coronavirus #Covid19UK is a clown.”

“My experience was very different from what #BREATHTAKING is showing,” another viewer pointed out before a third added: “No mention of the adverse reactions to the (bad) mRNA jab.

“No mention of the shutting down of free speech by social media companies. No mention of how children didn’t need to be masked or jabbed. The #BREATHTAKING arrogance.”

A fourth user added: “This isn't very realistic. There are not nearly enough dancing nurses whilst people die from untreated cancers at home. #Breathtaking.”

“My friend is a paramedic. Was in the hospital dance routine outside with all the ambulances parked and flashing lights.

“We asked her at the time - silence/nothing. A few months back we were out the drinks were flowing. Said the hospital wasn’t full - was told not to say anything,” one X user revealed.

However, many of the viewers praised the ITV series as one expressed: “#BREATHTAKING is just breathtaking!

“I said it during the pandemic and say it again-thank you to our NHS for all you did to look after us. You deserved so much better.” (sic)

ITV viewers weren’t the only ones to slam the series as GB News host Bev Turner made her feelings clear, claiming the broadcaster was “cashing in”.

She scathed: “It was a hideous event we all went through and it will all be one-sided. There is no doubt the nurses and doctors were terrified.

“But from the start, there was a failure of risk assessment. It was not really understanding. It was a virus we closed the whole country down for that we’re still seeing the effects from.

“We’re seeing it in mental health for kids, the economy crashing, those issues won’t be handled in this drama.

“I think that’s incredibly manipulative. What I hated throughout that period of time was how much the British public was manipulated.”
