The comedian and presenter were swept away by the huge crowd

Holly Willoughby and Michael McIntyre found themselves unexpectedly engulfed by the Kardashian sisters' massive entourage during the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.

The British television personalities were in the middle of a Sky Sports interview with presenter Natalie Pinkham when Kim and Khloe Kardashian swept through the paddock area.

Ms Willoughby had just remarked "we are so lucky to be here" when burly security personnel rushed into shot, pushing the trio aside to make way for the reality TV stars.

Kim was attending her first trackside appearance at an F1 event to support her Ferrari driver boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, accompanied by her sister and a substantial security detail.

The chaotic moment saw McIntyre abandon his interview to chase after the famous siblings, leaving a startled Ms Willoughby behind.

Upon returning to the interview, Mr McIntyre described the experience as being hit by an overwhelming force.

"I've just been hit by like a wave. You know when you're on holiday, and a wave hits you and it's like 'that's actually quite dangerous.' We've been Kardashian waved," he told Sky Sports.

Ms Willoughby responded by declaring "that was ridiculous" as the pair processed what had just occurred.

The comedian then claimed to have suffered a physical injury during the commotion, joking: "My back's gone.

"I think something belonging to Kim, I'm not mentioning anything, may have struck me in my lower back earlier. And I gotta tell you, it hurt!"

The presenter had earlier exclaimed "It's extraordinary, it's a wave" and "It's the Kardashians! I'm joining them!" as the group passed by.

The 72nd Monaco Grand Prix saw 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli make history by becoming the youngest ever winner of the prestigious race.

Mr Hamilton finished in second place after the event was halted on lap 68 for track repairs, with the teenage sensation ultimately beating him to the chequered flag.

Despite narrowly missing out on victory, Mr Hamilton appeared in good spirits during the podium celebrations, playfully spraying his girlfriend with champagne after receiving his trophy from Princess Charlene of Monaco.

Kim was spotted filming her boyfriend as he collected his second-place award, moments before being drenched in fizz.

Kim also drew criticism from Formula One supporters after appearing to snub veteran broadcaster Martin Brundle during his traditional pre-race grid walk.

The Sky Sports presenter approached both Kardashian sisters as they stood watching the pre-race ceremony, but neither would engage with him on camera.

Viewers at home expressed their displeasure on social media, with one writing: "Kim Kardashian is not too good to talk to Martin Brundle. What a complete lack of class."

Another fan posted: "Famous for absolutely nothing, can't carry an umbrella herself and she ignores Martin when talented sports persons and international actors embrace him. She has no place on our grid."

A third viewer commented that Ms Kardashian had looked to her entourage to assess whether Brundle was worth speaking to.
