The 33-year-old dancer has jetted to Dubai after reportedly quitting the show

Giovanni Pernice's girlfriend Molly Brown has returned to social media for the first time since reports the dancer quit Strictly hit headlines.

Pernice, 33, had been embroiled in a widely-publicised feud with former partner Amanda Abbington following their time on the dance competition last year.

Abbington quit the show early last year and went on to say she'd been diagnosed with PTSD from her experience and was seeking legal action.

Pernice, meanwhile, headed on a solo UK tour that consisted of sold-out shows - although did spark rumours he'd be quitting Strictly when he unveiled the name of his next tour.

Amid the constant speculation over his Strictly future and the row with Abbington over the past few months, Pernice has been supported by his girlfriend, Brown.

Brown, who recently branded the Abbington saga as "bizarre", has now decided to put any response to the "quit" reports aside with a new update from her holiday with Pernice.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Brown shared a video to her stories of her walking out of her holiday apartment.

Crystal-clear blue seas could be seen from the balcony along with an infinity pool at the luxurious location.

Two chairs were also positioned on the balcony but there was no sight or noise from Pernice as Brown also included the song Sunshine by Lavern on the clip.

Pernice himself has remained silent on the reports that he has quit the show but the BBC did issue a statement amid the news.

A BBC Strictly spokesperson said of the show's future: "The professional dancers for 2024 will be announced in due course."

Reports of Pernice quitting the competition emerged on Thursday evening after a source allegedly told The Sun: "Gio feels the scrutiny on him has become too much, and now is the time to make a fresh start.

"He wants to focus on other TV projects and feels he’s achieved all he can on Strictly, having won the trophy back in 2021 and reaching the final an unprecedented four times.

"He remains adamant he’s done nothing wrong other than being a hard taskmaster, but knows his style of training isn’t to everyone’s liking — especially in this day and age.

"He has a lot of other exciting projects in the pipeline right now, and he’s just super-excited to get cracking on them. This, now, is his priority."

Pernice has another solo tour in the pipeline while he recently made a return to screens alongside Strictly judge Anton du Beke in their own travel series.
