The GB News Breakfast presenter shared a touching family update

Eamonn Holmes has received an outpouring of support from viewers after sharing a heartfelt update on social media.

The GB News presenter continues to live with significant health challenges that have affected his mobility in recent years.

The 66-year-old broadcaster has been open about his recovery journey following a series of serious medical setbacks, including spinal surgery and repeated falls.

He has previously described life in a wheelchair as “horrendous” and criticised what he sees as an “ageist” attitude in society towards disability.

The post quickly drew a wave of affectionate responses from viewers, many of whom were pleased to see him in good spirits.

The broadcaster has previously spoken candidly about the physical and emotional impact of his condition, explaining that he now relies on a wheelchair and mobility scooter, alongside carers who assist him throughout the day.

He has also highlighted the everyday accessibility barriers he encounters, from transport to public venues, arguing that disabled people are often poorly accommodated.

He said in a recent interview: “When you’re disabled, it’s unbelievable how society… whether it’s a theatre, a restaurant or a cinema.

“You think to yourself, why is this? Why does it have to be one or the other like that?”

Despite these challenges, Eamonn has remained active in broadcasting when possible, continuing to front GB News Breakfast and share updates with viewers.
