Dr Ranj Singh has addressed the backlash from his former wife following his recent interview about their 2011 divorce.
The This Morning doctor, 46, posted an extensive statement on Instagram on Sunday evening amid escalating tensions with former spouse, Sulvinder Samra.
"It's been nearly 20 years since my divorce, but recent conversations have brought me back to a time that was complicated, emotional and deeply personal," he wrote.
The television presenter insisted he had never concealed his true self with intent, stating: "I didn't grow up deliberately hiding who I was, nor did I intentionally try to mislead anyone.

Dr Ranj Singh has addressed his ex-wife's comments
| PA"Like many people, I was trying to build the life I thought happiness looked like."
He expressed sadness that the topic continues to cause pain, maintaining that he only discusses it when directly asked and in hopes of helping others.
Earlier on Sunday, Ms Samra had launched a sharp critique of her ex-husband's motivations for repeatedly recounting their split.
She expressed agreement with a follower who questioned: "What does Dr Ranj hope to achieve from continuing to tell this story? Fame? Money? Attention?"
The same commenter suggested it must be "incredibly frustrating and embarrassing" for Ms Samra, adding: "Not only has he ruined her life - He seems to be profiting from her misfortune. He's getting a pat on the back for being brave… whilst she still seems to be piecing her life back together."
When another supporter described Dr Ranj as "an insecure little man" who dragged others through his selfishness, the nervous-system-led coach responded warmly: "Thank you. You have a great way with words!"
Ms Samra also spoke out on Thursday, which marked what would have been the couple's 20th wedding anniversary.
In a lengthy Instagram post, she revealed the emotional toll of their separation, describing how she "mourned" the end of their marriage and struggled with profound self-doubt.

The pair first met in 2003 and wed two years later, but their seven-year marriage ended when Dr Ranj came out as gay.
Ms Samra's candid revelations prompted an overwhelming response from followers, leaving her "lost for words" at the outpouring of support. Many shared their own similar experiences in the comments.
In his statement, Dr Ranj reflected on the complexities of understanding oneself, noting that identity and sexuality are "fluid and evolving things" that some people grasp early, whilst others require more time.

The television doctor emphasised he would not wish to diminish their shared history, stating: "I look back on that time, and that person, with nothing but respect, gratitude and kindness."
Dr Ranj, who turns 47 next month, has since moved on romantically. He confirmed his relationship with actor James Colebrook in 2025, making their romance Instagram official last year.
