Davina McCall has spoken publicly for the first time since secretly tying the knot with celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas last Friday.
The 58-year-old television presenter took to Instagram on Thursday to express her affection for her new 49-year-old husband, describing him as "lovely" while sharing a poem by Harry Baker that she called "extraordinary."
The verse celebrated the simple pleasures of partnership, including lines such as: "It's not the flowers, it's the weeding in the mud with you. It's not the champagne, it's that cuppa in that favourite mug you use."
Ms McCall also reposted one of Douglas's hairdressing videos, adding the message: "@mdlondon tips. Michael ur lovely." (sic)

The couple exchanged vows at a small venue close to their home, with approximately 10 close friends and family members in attendance.
A source revealed: "Their wedding was perfect, exactly what they wanted. They chose a small venue close to their home, and just invited about ten of their friends and relatives to be there with them."
The intimate ceremony was followed by a larger celebration for extended friends and family the following day.

In a charming coincidence, the newlyweds found themselves attending another friend's wedding on the Saturday, marking their first public outing as a married couple.
"So they went as a married couple for the first time and happily showed off her wedding ring. It was the perfect weekend," the source told Mail Online.
Ms McCall and Mr Douglas first crossed paths at Hertfordshire's Elstree Studios when she was presenting Big Brother, initially forming a close friendship.
Their relationship turned romantic following the breakdown of Ms McCall's 17-year marriage to Matthew Robertson, father of her three children, in 2017.

Ms Douglas popped the question during an October trip to Ibiza, with Ms McCall later recounting the proposal on the Chris Evans Virgin Radio Show.
She recalled: "He wanted to take me to a beach where we'd been with all the kids before... And then he said: 'Let's go for a walk around the cliffs.'"
Friends say the couple's recent health challenges prompted them to bring forward their wedding plans, having originally considered a January ceremony.

The cancer was detected early and removed via lumpectomy, though Ms McCall will undergo five days of radiotherapy in January as a precautionary measure.
