The Only Fools and Horses legend has delighted fans with his latest update

Sir David Jason has shown off just how well he's doing in a new video shared online.

The Del Boy star announced back in August he'd have to postpone a series of public appearances in order to get a "new bionic body part fitted".

But three months on and Jason is back fighting fit after reportedly undergoing hip surgery.

In a new video shared to the Only Fools news X account, Jason can be seen walking up his drive using crutches.

The Rocky theme song, Gonna Fly Now, is blaring out around as Jason then stops and throws his crutches to the ground.

The Del Boy star begins strutting his stuff as he triumphantly walks towards the camera.

Jason shows off his good health as he begins shadow boxing and flexing his muscles in the short video clip.

The account captioned the clip: "A little video from Sir David Jason after his successful surgery Let’s send him some love."

It didn't take long for Only Fools fans everywhere to react to the video and applaud Jason for returning to the spotlight fighting-fit.

"Legend," one X user simply typed followed by a love heart emoji.

Another commented in response: "Protect this man at all costs! Absolutely love him."

While a fifth echoed: "Get well soon Sir David. Love this guy so much," followed by a prayer emoji.

The recovery update will be welcome news to those who were concerned to hear Jason had postponed his upcoming appearances until 2024.

He told fans in a statement: "I am so very sorry for the disappointment and all the inconvenience it may cause but we are having to change the date of the forthcoming Only Fools And Horses Convention.

"Unfortunately I have just been advised I need a new bionic body part fitted. (I won’t tell you which part it is, or you will all want one!) And don’t worry it’s not being supplied by Monkey Harris, it’ll be the pukka gear.

"I really hope everyone will be able to make the new date (January 13 and 14) and we can all have something cushty to look forward to!

"These events are such an enjoyable celebration for myself and the rest of the Only Fools cast, and it is such a privilege to meet so many of you... But I want to do it with a smile on my face I always have had," he signed off.
