Former Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon has announced her engagement to Preston North End midfielder Ryan Ledson, revealing the news through social media on Sunday evening.
The 30-year-old actress, best known for portraying Bethany Platt in the ITV soap opera, displayed her diamond engagement ring in a series of photographs shared on Instagram.
The proposal occurred during Ms Fallon's birthday weekend celebrations, with the actress writing on the platform: "Ending the birthday weekend with my best friend as a fiancé!!!! I can't wait to marry you @ryanledson8."
Multiple images showed the actress displaying her new ring, including selfies with Ledson and photographs taken at a restaurant during the celebrations.

Mr Ledson, who plays for Preston North End, proposed to mark the conclusion of Ms Fallon's milestone birthday festivities.
The actress shared multiple angles of her engagement ring, including one photograph where she held a cocktail glass whilst wearing the jewellery, and another showing the ring positioned near a floral arrangement.
The couple's two children were not visible in the engagement announcement photographs, though the pair have previously shared family moments on social media.
The pair's relationship began in 2021 after connecting through celebrity dating application Raya during the pandemic lockdown period.
Their romance became public knowledge in June of that year, approximately twelve months following Ms Fallon's separation from her previous partner of three years, Tom Leech.

The couple experienced personal tragedy in Ms March 2022 when Fallon suffered a miscarriage, discovered during a private medical scan at seven weeks of pregnancy.
They subsequently announced another pregnancy in September 2022, revealing Ms Fallon was already five months along at the time.
Their first child, son Sonny, was born in February 2023. The family expanded further with the arrival of daughter Nancy in January of this year, completing their household ahead of this weekend's engagement announcement.
Fellow actors and sporting figures quickly responded to the engagement announcement with congratulatory messages.
