Chappell Roan has addressed the controversy surrounding an alleged confrontation between a security guard and footballer Jorginho's young daughter at a São Paulo hotel.
The American singer posted a video to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, stating that the guard involved was not part of her personal security team and that she was unaware of the mother and child's presence.
"I didn't even see a woman and a child," Ms Roan explained. "No one came up to me. No one bothered me."
The Grammy winner expressed regret over the incident, stating: "I'm sorry to the mother and child, that someone was assuming something, that you would do something, and if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that."

She added that it was "unfair for security to just assume someone doesn't have good intentions."
The incident occurred on Saturday morning when Jorginho's wife and 11-year-old daughter were having breakfast at their hotel during Lollapalooza Brasil.
According to the Flamengo midfielder, his daughter had woken up excited and even prepared a handmade sign for an artist she greatly admired.
The family discovered by chance that Ms Roan was staying at the same accommodation.

|Jorginho stated that his daughter merely walked past the singer's table, glanced over to confirm it was her, smiled, and returned to sit with her mother without saying a word or making any request.
"A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife and my daughter," the footballer wrote on Instagram.
The guard allegedly accused the child of "disrespect" and "harassment" and threatened to lodge a formal complaint with the hotel, leaving the 11-year-old in tears.
Jorginho drew upon his extensive experience in professional football to criticise how the situation was handled, noting he understood the dynamics of fame and public exposure.

"I've lived with football, public exposure, and well-known people for many years, and I understand very well what respect and boundaries are," he wrote. "What happened there was not that. It was just a child admiring someone."
The former Chelsea and Arsenal player expressed profound disappointment at the treatment his family received, arguing that performers should recognise the vital role supporters play in their success.
"It's sad to see this kind of treatment coming from those who should understand the importance of fans," he stated. "At the end of the day, they are the ones who build all of this."
His message concluded with a stark declaration: "Without your fans, you would be nothing. And to the fans, she does not deserve your affection."

Rio de Janeiro's Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere has responded to the allegations by declaring that Ms Roan will not receive an invitation to perform at the city's prestigious Copacabana Beach concert venue.
The mayor stated that the singer would be excluded from the flagship event for as long as he remains in office.
Ms Roan had been in Brazil to perform at Lollapalooza Brasil, which took place at the Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo between March 20-22.
