DJ Fat Tony has spoken out about the controversial dance incident at Brooklyn Beckham's 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz, appearing on ITV's This Morning on Friday to share his account of events.

The British DJ, who provided entertainment throughout the three-day celebration, revealed he had been overwhelmed by the public response to the family dispute.

"I was away on honeymoon and it's literally been overtaken by the Beckham saga," he told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

Tony confirmed he worked the welcome party, the main wedding reception, and the Sunday brunch, which he described as "the most awkward part of it all."

He explained his decision to speak publicly came after receiving thousands of Instagram messages, many accusing him of lying despite not having commented on the matter.

The DJ provided a detailed account of how the dance unfolded during the reception. Singer Marc Anthony was performing on stage when he called Brooklyn up to join him, with guests anticipating the newlyweds' first dance.

"The next minute everyone's expecting Nicola to go up and do the first dance, and then Marc asked for the most beautiful woman in the room to come to the stage - and then he says 'Victoria, come to the stage,'" Tony explained.

Victoria, who was positioned near the stage, stepped up to dance with her son.

"At that point, Brooklyn is literally, like, devastated because he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife, then Nicola leaves the room crying her eyes out," Tony recalled.

Tony was keen to clarify that the dance itself was not overtly provocative, dismissing suggestions of anything resembling "Spice Girl action" or suggestive moves.

"There was no sl**dropping, there was no black cat PVC catsuits," he said, explaining that the inappropriateness stemmed entirely from the timing of the moment.

Mr Anthony had instructed Brooklyn to "put your hands on your mother's hips" for what Tony described as "a Latin thing," leaving the entire room feeling uncomfortable.

"The whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room," he added.

Tony noted that the Beckhams are typically a close family who enjoy dancing together, but stressed that Brooklyn's feelings about the moment were what mattered most.

The following morning's brunch saw poor attendance, with guests discussing the previous night's events and the couple's devastated departure. Tony expressed deep sadness about the family breakdown, observing that "parents have lost their child, and a son has lost his parents."

When asked whether Brooklyn could have handled matters privately, Tony revealed that the 26-year-old had already attempted to resolve issues with his family before turning to social media.

"He's done all that. It got to the point for him where he can't take this anymore and wanted to step back from it, and that was his way of doing closure," Tony explained.

Drawing on his own experience of not speaking to his father for three decades, the DJ expressed confidence that reconciliation would eventually come.

"Do I think they'll talk again? Of course they will at some point, they are family. But the noise needs to die down, people need to step back from it," he said.
