The Beckhams' eldest son paid tribute to his wife's late grandma on the anniversary of her death

Brooklyn Beckham has shared an emotional tribute to his wife Nicola Peltz's late grandmother on the one-year anniversary of her death, amid ongoing tensions with his own family.

The 26-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham posted the heartfelt message on Instagram yesterday, just days after his notable absence from his father's 50th birthday celebrations.

The tribute comes as reports emerge of Brooklyn and Nicola, 30, growing closer to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are said to be "secretly supporting" the couple through their family difficulties.

In his Instagram post, Brooklyn shared several photographs of himself with Nicola's grandmother, whom they affectionately called "naunni".

"Can't believe it's been a year without you naunni x you were always so happy and always made me laugh," he wrote. "I miss you and will love you forever x... it makes me so sad to think of our future kids not being able to know you x you were one of a kind and we miss you everyday..." (sic)

The images show Brooklyn with his arm around his grandmother-in-law, as well as another photo of them smiling together.

Nicola also took to Instagram to share her own emotional tribute to her grandmother Bunny, who passed away at the age of 95 in May last year.

"I can't believe it's been a whole year without my naunni on earth. I miss her laugh so much," she wrote. "I miss her happiness, her love, her everything. Her magic runs though my mom and I'm so lucky to know the feeling of that love."

The American actress added: "I am so lucky she was my naunni - I miss her every single second. Life is not as bright without her here." (sic)

Bunny had served as Nicola's maid of honour at her 2022 wedding to Brooklyn.

The heartfelt posts come after Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably absent from David Beckham's milestone 50th birthday celebrations last month, which were attended by a host of A-list stars.

While Brooklyn's siblings Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, were all present at the various festivities, Brooklyn neither attended nor mentioned the events on social media.

According to reports, David is "desperate to make amends with his son" as he fears history is repeating itself, following his own bitter fallout with his father Ted in 2005. Meanwhile, sources claim Victoria has been having "sleepless nights" over the rift, with the couple reportedly "heartbroken" about the situation.

It was reported yesterday that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently hosted Brooklyn and Nicola for dinner at their mansion in Montecito, California.

The meeting has reportedly come as a shock to David and Victoria, who were once friends with the Sussexes before an alleged fallout.

"David and Victoria were blindsided by the news - they didn't see it coming," a friend of the Beckhams told The Sun. "Of course it's a bit weird for them as they used to socialise with Meghan and Harry, and now their boy is doing it."

The dinner was reportedly arranged before the recent escalation in the Beckham family tensions.

A source familiar with the dinner told The Sun: "Harry and Meghan were very empathetic and very kind to them both. Harry was fully aware of the situation and offered Brooklyn his unwavering support as someone who has been through similar."

The source added that Nicola and Meghan had "a bit of a 'deep n' meaningful'" conversation, as "both women have been positioned in the media as home-wreckers -- the women to tear apart their husbands' families."

"Meghan had a lot of sympathy for her, and said there was shared common ground," the source revealed.

However, soon after news of the lavish dinner party emerged, Victoria appeared to hit back but flaunting a dinner gathering of her own on social media.

In a series of what could be interpreted as pointed posts, Victoria shared several photos from the dinner party alongside her sister and Tana Ramsay as the pals gathered in light of Brooklyn and Nicola's attendance at the Sussexes'.
