Weather: Gales far north at first, elsewhere mostly dry and fine

Severe gales and squally showers at first across the far north, otherwise mostly dry, warm and fine with the best of any sunshine in eastern and central parts. Thicker cloud may bring some patchy rain at times to the west.

Tonight:

Mostly cloudy in the north and west with some rain or drizzle at times. Mostly dry with variable cloud and clear spells elsewhere. Becoming increasingly breezy especially in the north.

Friday:

Rather cloudy, especially in the west and north where some patchy rain is likely with the best of any sunshine in eastern parts. Breezy, particularly in northern areas. Feeling warm.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Mainly fine and warm Saturday. Some rain for the northwest. Scattered showers overnight into Sunday, perhaps heavy in the east. Squally band of rain pushes east Sunday and into Monday.
