UK weather: Rain then sunshine and showers

Today:

Band of rain continuing north and east, becoming slow moving across parts of east and southeast England later. Sunshine and showers, heavy in places with hail and thunder, following across western areas. Gales in western areas easing through the afternoon.

Tonight:

Rain in east clearing. Showers near southern coasts, else clear spells inland allowing frost and patchy fog to form. Cloudier further north with outbreaks of rain in the northwest.

Monday:

Outbreaks of rain across the northwest moving east across northern areas and turning more showery. Sunny spells further south, with a few heavy showers developing.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rain across the far northwest on Tuesday will spread across many areas during Wednesday, before clearing to leave largely dry, fine, and sunny conditions by Thursday.
