Sun-hungry Britons may could be about to dust off their sun hats with August hinting at a summer revival.
Temperatures soaring to 30C-plus could be about to send Britain back into a late heatwave.
Rain, drizzle and grey skies are likely to give way to roasting sunshine in the run up to mid-August, experts say.

Jim Dale, meteorologist for British Weather Services, said: “We are not finished with the heatwaves yet, and although it is cooler and slightly more unsettled at the moment, there is every chance that this will change as we go through late summer.
“From next week there are signs that temperatures are going to start heading upwards, and we are probably going to get back to the 30Cs by mid- to late-August.
“Currently we are in a cooler air flow, but the signs are for this to switch over the next week to 10 days.”
The cooler and rainier blip to Britain’s summer is being driven by a surge in low pressure and temperatures plunging over the Continent.
Central and western Europe, usually warm at this time of year, has turned cooler, with the heat building further east.
High pressure to the west, the driver of hot weather over Britain, is also struggling to get a foothold.
Instead, wet and windy Atlantic lows are bringing grey, cloudy skies, drizzle and the risk of thunder.
Dale said: “The Azores High is likely to build back through the next week or so, and this could bring a return to much warmer conditions, particularly across southern parts of the country.
“At the moment, it is just edging in from the west but being held at bay by weather fronts coming in from the Atlantic.
“There is every possibility that we will see another heatwave before the end of summer, and this could happen in the next fortnight.”
Warm sea and ground temperatures after the June heatwave will help push up the mercury, he added.
Sunshine will return to parts of the country later this week although the risk of showers will be ever nearby.
Jason Nicholls, lead international forecaster for AccuWeather, said: “It will be warm with sunny spells for many on Wednesday, although northern parts of Britain will keep the risk of showers.

“It is a similar picture for Thursday, with isolated showers and sunny periods.
“The, later in the week and into the weekend, a front will spread eastwards bringing thundery rain.”
The Met Office’s mid-month forecast states: “High pressure, and therefore more settled conditions overall, appears more likely to be dominant than low pressure.
“Temperatures are most likely to be around to above average, with a near normal chance of brief spells of hot weather.”
