Thunderstorms are set to deluge parts of the UK over the next four days, according to the Met Office.
Yellow weather warnings for thunder and heavy rain have been issued across areas in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Forecasters believe some areas, particularly the north west of England and north Wales, could see as much as 80-100mm of rain on Friday.
There are no flood warnings in place over the four nations, but this could change due to the intense showers expected to batter the country over the weekend.
Today
Sunny intervals in the east at first, but generally rather cloudy. Early rain, heavy at times, in the west spreads eastwards, just parts of the very far east escaping this rain. Heavy showers, some thundery, follow into the west later.
Tonight
Rather cloudy and unsettled with showery rain at times in many areas, rain heavy at times. Some more persistent heavy rain develops over parts of eastern Scotland. Very mild.
Friday
Early rain over eastern Scotland moves into northern Scotland. Otherwise, a breezy, showery day with heavy, and at times thundery, showers for many, especially Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Remaining unsettled with temperatures around or a slightly below average. Sunshine and showers, slow-moving in the north, locally heavy with a risk of thunder.
