UK on flood alert: 'Danger to life' alarm issued with DOZENS of warnings in place across Britain
Wet and windy weather will come in on Monday night, pushing east into Tuesday

Torrential downpours over the weekend have left Britain on flood alert - with the Met Office even warning of a "danger to life" when fresh rain hits tomorrow.
Two named storms over the weekend saw gale-force winds and heavy rain across the country, with the Environment Agency having issued 45 flood warnings for England and a further 198 flood alerts for today.
In Scotland there are eight flood alerts in place, while Wales has issued six.
The washout is set to get even worse over the next 48-72 hours.
A yellow weather warning is in place from 9am on Tuesday until 3am on Wednesday

Eastern Scotland could see between 50mm and 75mm of rainfall in a matter of just hours tomorrow, equivalent to a third of the average for December.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning because of the anticipated heavy rain.
"There is a small chance that persistent rainfall through Tuesday and into early Wednesday may lead to some flooding of roads and properties," the national weather service said in its warning.
"There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life."

The warning is in place from 9am on Tuesday until 3am on Wednesday.
Weather maps from WX Charts show the wind sweeping in from the Atlantic late tonight, brining in the fresh rain.
Giving a wider forecast for from today onwards, Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna said: “Monday looks like a better day for most areas; there will be some patchy rain across the northeast of Scotland, but other than that it looks mostly dry with bright sunny spells and lighter winds.
“But wet and windy weather will come in on Monday night, pushing east into Tuesday.
“Eastern Scotland could see 50mm to 75mm of rain on Tuesday, so two or three inches in some spots, elsewhere it will be brighter but with some showers.
“It could be a chilly start in the north on Wednesday, a few icy patches and a touch of frost, but becoming drier and brighter.
“Later in the week things will gradually improve, but Wednesday night there will be a spell of wet and windy weather.
“After that at the end of the week things will improve, away from north-west Scotland which will be wet, but elsewhere higher pressure will be building, temperatures will be between 8C and 12C, a degree or two above average for this time of the year.”
