And according to the latest weather maps, a separate snow storm could hit in the south tomorrow, with forecasters warning of possible wintery conditions in Cornwall and Plymouth.
A new band of low pressure moving in from the southwest could also wreck havoc throughout Wednesday.
The Storm, named Irene by Météo-France, looks set to clash with the Arctic wind from the north - causing significant disruption across France.

It comes after 10cm of snow landed in northern England and Wales today, and up to 20cm in the Scottish Highlands.
The Met Office has extended its snow and ice caution for the north with a new yellow weather warning for ice across Northern Ireland from 5pm until midnight on Tuesday.
Weather maps show heavy snow hitting northern England near Manchester as well as swathes of Scotland tomorrow and into Thursday.

Met Office spokesperson Stephen Dixon, said there is a "small chance of snow showers" near the south coast of England tomorrow.
"This band of low pressure now looks unlikely to cause significant disruption to the UK," he told The Mirror.
"It is looking quite unlikely to affect us hugely but there is a chance it'll brush across the south coast, places like Cornwall and higher ground. So there is a small chance of snow showers in these areas near the south coast of England tomorrow."
"The system has been named Storm Irene by France's meteorological service. It was being closely monitored last week but the weather models show its direction has changed somewhat," Dixon added.

Around 200 schools across Merseyside, Aberdeenshire, Moray and Shetland were closed due to snow on Monday.
The Met Office said a "cold plunge of Arctic air" has moved south across the whole country, making it 5C to 6C lower than usual for this time of year.
Met Office forecaster Craig Snell said: "In the early hours of the morning we're looking at temperatures getting down to -12C in a few spots, Tuesday night possibly down to -15C.
"So certainly a very cold spell into Wednesday."
