Cloudy weekend ahead with more sunshine on Sunday

Today:

Much low cloud at first, with some drizzle and patchy fog. This should slowly lift, with some warm sunshine in central, eastern and northeastern areas. Southern England may stay rather cloudy until later. Windy with rain in far northwest

Tonight:

Patchy drizzle in the west and northwest, and perhaps a stray shower into southern England later. Otherwise dry with some low cloud or fog. Mild for most, windy in northwest.

Sunday:

Southern, central and eastern areas seeing some warm sunshine but perhaps the odd heavy shower in the southeast. Wet, windy weather ushering in much cooler conditions across the northwest later.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Turning cooler with much more unsettled. Sunny spells and showers with occasional longer spells of rain. Heaviest rain probably in the north and west. Windy at times.
