Ryanair has urged holidaymakers to check the status of their flights

Holidaymakers heading to and from the UK could face flight disruptions today if travelling with Ryanair.

The budget airline has warned against potential delays due to weather conditions outside its control and are likely to affect various airlines.

Anyone who is on an affected flight will be contacted, but all customers are also encouraged to regularly check the status of the journey.

A statement warned: "[Today there are] potential disruptions to/from the UK (Sunday 14 April) due to high winds.

"Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from the UK on Sunday 14 April should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.

"We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these high winds, which are outside of Ryanair's control and affects all airlines operating to/from the UK on Sunday 14 April."

This is not the first time weather conditions have caused disruptions for British travellers and a similar warning was shared by Ryanair just weeks ago.

Ryanair is a popular budget airline that has flights from the UK to some of the most popular holiday destinations in the world.

It has shared new routes that will run from Liverpool and Bristol. It has added new routes to six spots from Bristol this summer as holidaymakers can visit Copenhagen, Fuerteventura, Marrakesh, Prague, Sofia and Tirana.

Liverpool airport will get more flights to Corfu, Lanzarote and Paphos during summer 2024.

For a limited time, Britons will be able to find flights starting at just £19.99.

Ryanair’s head of comms Jade Kirwan said: “Ryanair is pleased to officially launch our new summer 24 schedule for Liverpool with 32 routes, including three exciting new routes to Corfu, Lanzarote and Paphos, with our first summer 24 flights to these new sunny hotspot destinations taking off just last week.

"The addition of this new aircraft brings Ryanair’s total Liverpool-based fleet to five aircraft, representing a $500million (£400million) investment in Liverpool and supporting 1,600 local jobs.

"Ryanair’s new Liverpool schedule, including these three exciting new Ryanair routes is available to book now at ryanair.com with fares from just £19.99 for a limited time only.
