Royal Caribbean has unveiled plans for Perfect Day Mexico, a massive 200-acre destination set to open in autumn 2027 on Mexico's Caribbean coast.
The development will feature record-breaking attractions, including the tallest waterslide tower in North and South America and the world's longest lazy river.
Royal Caribbean's president and CEO Michael Bayley said Perfect Day Mexico is "bigger and bolder than anything we have done to date". The destination represents the cruise line's latest expansion of exclusive experiences, joining a growing portfolio that includes new Royal Beach Clubs in Paradise Island, Cozumel, and Lelepa.
The announcement marks a big milestone in Royal Caribbean's strategy to transform from a cruise company into what executives call a "global vacation brand for all generations".

The centrepiece attraction, Loco Waterpark, will feature more than 30 waterslides across five towers. The tallest, Jaguar's Peak, will soar more than 170 feet high with 10 slides, including two duelling slides offering "more than two minutes of pure thrill".
The park will introduce several world firsts, including "the world's first sombrero slide, modelled after Mexico's iconic sombrero". Other attractions include the longest coaster waterslide in the world and the tallest family raft slide designed for four to six riders.
Additional thrills will come from hydrolaunch slides that shoot riders into the air. The waterpark will also include adventure pools, a wave pool, and slides specifically designed for younger children.
Splash Cove will serve as the central neighbourhood featuring the world's longest lazy river with an hour-long float. The river includes "an optional crazy section" with waves, rapids and spins, plus multiple entry points and float-up bars.
The area also boasts a 100,000-square-foot pool, part of more than 10 pools spanning "the size of four football fields." Families can enjoy Royal Caribbean's largest Splashaway Bay with waterslides for children and its first-ever Splashaway Cabanas.
Adults seeking exclusivity can visit El Hideaway, an 18-and-over neighbourhood with a zero-entry pool, swim-up bar and in-pool DJ. The Ultimate Party Cabana accommodates 20 guests with its own pool and bar.
Beach lovers can choose between Costa Beach Club's premium experience with heated infinity pool and private cabanas, or Chill Beach's nearly two miles of white sand beaches with complimentary loungers and umbrellas.
Fiesta Plaza will welcome guests with live music, dance performances, and "the world's largest sombrero" atop the Tipsy Sombrero bar. The destination will offer 12 regionally inspired dining options and 24 bars, including six swim-up bars, with nearly all food complimentary.
The development continues Royal Caribbean's partnership with local government and includes infrastructure projects aligned with the company's sustainability commitments.

Like most Royal Caribbean cruises, Britons hoping to set sail will need to travel to the United States to board. Once the park opens in autumn 2027, itineraries from Galveston, New Orleans and Florida homeports will head that way. These options go on sale in autumn this year.
Royal Beach Club Paradise Island will debut in December 2025 as the first of three new beach clubs. The Bahamas location will feature "The Floating Flamingo – the world's largest swim-up bar", three island-style eateries, and all-inclusive day passes covering unlimited dining and drinks.
Royal Beach Club Cozumel follows in 2026 with pools, swim-up bars, cabanas, and water activities. The Mexico location will offer tequila tastings, cooking classes, and a street market celebrating local culture.
Lelepa in Vanuatu opens in early 2027 as "the first exclusive island cruise destination in the Southern Hemisphere". The South Pacific destination will provide beaches, nature trails, and water activities for Australian and international travellers. These Royal Beach Clubs join existing destinations in Labadee, Haiti, and the original Perfect Day at CocoCay in Royal Caribbean's expanding portfolio.
