Virgin Media has confirmed to GB News that it has resolved the issue that prevented some subscribers from logging into apps, including Virgin TV Go. We apologise for any inconvenience caused this morning."

Virgin Media is experiencing issues across the UK, with subscribers complaining about a "total blackout".

The telecom brand acknowledged a "known issue" with parts of its service right now, but engineers working on the problem say there's "no estimated fix time".

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused but are working hard to fully resolve this as quickly as possible," a spokesperson for Virgin Media O2 said.

Virgin Media, which operates the second-largest full-fibre network in the UK — covering 16 million premises nationwide, has stressed that its home broadband network is working as normal. Likewise, the O2 mobile network is working too.

However, a small number of subscribers are experiencing difficulties signing into some apps. This has led to hundreds of Virgin Media users flooding social media with complaints about the problems, which seem to impact those trying to watch Sky Sports to see the fifth day of the England vs India cricket test match.

Based on reports across social media, Virgin Media TV Go appears to be impacted with the issue too.

For those who don't know, Virgin Media TV Go is the companion app that lets Virgin TV customers stream live telly and on-demand shows on the go.

Whether you’re catching up on your favourite dramas, watching live sport, or managing recordings remotely, it brings much of your home viewing experience to your phone, tablet, or laptop. With access to up to 100 channels depending on your package — just make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi to avoid a pricey mobile bill.

Down Detector, an independent website that tracks the performance of online services by monitoring the number of mentions across social media, has shown a spike in complaints around Virgin Media around 10am. Things quickly escalated in a few moment, with a peak of 787 complaints every minute.

Speaking to GB News, a spokesperson for Virgin Media O2 said:" Our fixed and mobile networks are operating as usual today, however we’re aware that a small number of customers are experiencing issues accessing some apps. Our technical teams are working to restore services as soon as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
