Whatever deal you decide on... don't stick with your current plan

If you haven't switched to a new broadband deal in a while, you could earn an easy £100. Yes, really.

That's because Plusnet is offering up to £100 when you switch to its latest full-fibre broadband deals. The BT-owned brand offers download speeds up to 900Mbps — that's 4x faster than the average household internet speed in the UK, as recorded in the latest statistics from Ofcom. At those speeds, you won't need to worry about buffering when watching your favourite shows, making video calls to friends and family, or backing-up your devices to the cloud.

Plusnet is offering the maximum £100 Gift Card with this flagship Full Fibre 900 package. You'll receive the cash in the form of a pre-paid Mastercard debit card, which can be used anywhere that accepts Mastercard.

Given that's pretty much everywhere, you'll be able to put that £100 allowance towards a new gadget, a holiday, some DIY materials to do some work at-home, or even it to pay your monthly Plusnet broadband bills.

Plusnet charges £36.99 a month for its Full Fibre 900 package, which means you'll be able to pay roughly 3 months of your new superfast broadband bills with the Gift Card — saving you from any broadband bills until November.

You've got until 11.59pm on August 27 to switch to Plusnet and be rewarded with the free cash.

If you switch to the more modest Full Fibre 500 (£31.99) with its 500Mbps download speeds, Plusnet will send a £75 Gift Card. Lastly, the Full Fibre 145 (£31.99) with its 145Mbps average speeds arrives with a £65 Gift Card instead.

Given the lower value of the Gift Card, if you wanted to use those funds to pay for your Plusnet broadband bills, you're looking at closer to two months of free internet with either of these plans.

But if it's free broadband that you're looking for, Community Fibre has one of the best offers around. For a limited time, new customers can now get six months free by switching to Community Fibre.

The lesser-known broadband supplier has also waived its setup fees. You won't pay a single bill for the first six months of your contract, but you'll be sent out a brand-new Wi-Fi router to take advantage of the faster broadband speeds.

COMMUNITY FIBRE PRESS OFFICE

Community Fibre is offering six months of free broadband across both its 12-month and 24-month plans on 100Mbps, 300Mbps, 1Gbps broadband packages. If you're signing up for a two-year plan, Community Fibre will waive the first six months of broadband bills on its 500Mbps, 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, and 5Gbps packages.

This offer is only available until 11.59pm on August 21, so you'll need to act fast.

Community Fibre offers a 60-day Satisfaction Guarantee, so that if at any moment within the first 60 days of your new contract you're unsatisfied with the 100% full fibre connection, you can leave with no cancellation fees. This is much longer than the fortnight cooling-off period you'll get from most providers in the industry.

Get 6-months of £0 broadband when you switch to Community Fibre's fastest full-fibre speeds

If you switch to Community Fibre before 11.59pm on August 21, you can enjoy £0 broadband for the next six months. When your monthly internet bills eventually do start, you'll pay £25 for 1,000Mbps — that's 4x speedier than the average household broadband speed in the UK. There's no set-up fee either, and Community Fibre will send a Wi-Fi router to ensure wireless coverage throughout your home

If you haven't heard of Community Fibre before, this full-fibre brand has been named by consumer champion Which? as the UK’s Greatest of Great Value Broadband Provider.

It's also picked up gongs for Consistent Quality, Download Speed, Upload Speed, Reliability Experience and Video Experience on Opensignal’s London Regional Fixed Broadband Experience Table.

OK, what's the catch?

Unlike rivals BT, EE, Sky, Vodafone, TalkTalk and others, Community Fibre isn't available nationwide.

Instead, the full-fibre supplier is only found in large swathes of the capital city, with infrastructure in over 25 London boroughs, including Barnet, Bexley, Brent, Camden, City of London, Croydon, Ealing, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hounslow, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Kingston upon Thames, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Newham, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Wandsworth and Westminster.

In total, Community Fibre can be accessed by 1.3 million London homes and businesses, with roughly 400,000 paying subscribers choosing to take advantage of these full‑fibre speeds, according to figured from earlier this year.

A postcode checker on the Community Fibre website will confirm whether it's available at your address. The start-up is expanding all the time, so there's a chance it'll add your property in the near future.

In contrast, Plusnet leverages Openreach's nationwide network of full-fibre cables, so is available across the UK.

If you've had a broadband contract with either one of these brands, BT, TalkTalk, Post Office Broadband, or Sky, to name just a few, then you'll be able to switch to either of the above deals without an engineer drilling any new holes at your property. Earlier this year, the BT-owned firm revealed 17 million homes had been successfully upgraded to the speediest full-fibre internet connection.
