It's time to dust off your wallets — PlayStation's Summer Sale is officially here. After Sony confirmed plans to increase PlayStation 5 prices in the UK in April, it's now slashed the cost of its console in a limited-time sale. From today until July 30, Sony has cut £90 off its PS5 Digital Edition console — its lowest price ever since Black Friday 2023.
PlayStation typically runs two sales every year, the Days of Play Sale and the Summer Sale. Of course, it's possible PS5 consoles will be reduced during major sales events, like Black Friday and Boxing Day in the coming months.
For its PlayStation Summer Sale, Sony has cut the cost of various consoles and bundles.
Unfortunately, the PS5 Pro is not part of the Summer Sale, but you can save £42 on the price tag by heading to Amazon.
Summer Sale is available from Sony's own online store. It offers savings on PS5 console bundles, including ones that include the PlayStation 5 with extra controllers as well as premium subscriptions.

Sony has also slashed its PlayStation Premium Plus bundle, which arrives with a standard PlayStation 5 Console with an optical disc drive, a 1TB Solid State Drive (SSD) to store digital downloads, and a two-year subscription to PS Plus. This unlocks access to online multiplayer, free games every month, and exclusive discounts.

The consoles included in the Summer Sale are the newer, PlayStation 5 Slim Models. In comparison to the original PlayStation 5 consoles that launched back in 2020, these redesigned Slim Models arrive with 1TB of storage — more than the 825GB found on its predecessor. That means you'll have more space for games, movies, music, photos and apps.
On the console, the PS5 Slim Model boasts two USB-C ports on the front, whereas the original PS5 has one USB-C and one USB-A. This can be used to charge a DualSense wireless controller via USB-C. These ports are designed for higher data transfer speeds.
