But back to the Mamma Mia!Here We Go Again giveaway. For those who don't know, the jukebox musical is a direct sequel to the blockbuster hit Mamma Mia! starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth.
First released back in 2018, the film is set five years after the events of the first film, it follows Amanda Seyfried’s Sophie as prepares for the grand reopening of the Hotel Bella Donna and the arrival of her first child. Lily James stars as a young Donna (as portrayed by Meryl Streep in the first movie) back in 1979, with many scenes from the two timelines mirroring one another.
It includes ABBA songs such as When I Kissed the Teacher, Waterloo, The Name of the Game, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Angel Eyes, Dancing Queen, Fernando, and Super Trouper, to name just a few.
The movie was directed by Ol Parker (writer of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and director of Ticket To Paradise) from a story by himself, Catherine Johnson (who wrote the original West End musical) and romantic-comedy maestro Richard Curtis.
