Black Friday-beating discount must end in under 48 hours...

If you want to secure Sky Broadband's lowest ever price — you'll need to act quickly.

The company has started a 48-hour countdown on its Full Fibre 300 plan, which offers download speeds of 298 - 314Mbps. That's over 4x faster than the average household broadband connection in the UK.

Sky Broadband Full Fibre 300 comes with a guaranteed minimum speed of 200Mbps. If your connection fails to meet that threshold 3 days in a row in the last 30 days, you can switch your broadband package with Sky without any of the usual upfront fees, or cancel and switch to another provider with no early termination charges.

Full Fibre 300 costs £43.50 out-of-contract, but for a (very) limited time, you can lock-in these broadband speeds for just £28 a month. According to Sky, that's the "lowest ever price" for this broadband package. Yes, this is even cheaper than during the Sky Black Friday sale, which sees subscriptions slashed for a few days each year.

Time is running out to lock-in Sky Broadband's lowest-ever price

Sky Broadband has slashed its Full Fibre 300 speeds to the "lowest ever price". Yes, that means the latest price crash is even cheaper than Sky's Black Friday sale. For just £28 a month, you'll enjoy full-fibre speeds of 300Mbps with a guaranteed minimum download speed of 200Mbps and no upfront fee. But act fast — the broadband saving ends at 11.59pm on May 7, 2025

Sky Broadband has waived the £5 upfront fee too — so it won't cost you anything to switch today.

Full Fibre 300 is available in 55% of all UK homes. You'll need to live in an area that's been upgraded to the latest fibre broadband infrastructure by BT-owned Openreach. The company is ploughing ahead with an ambitious goal to upgrade 25 million premises to full-fibre broadband by December 2026.

Virgin Media doesn't rely on broadband cables maintained by Openreach, which is owned and operated by BT. Instead, it has its own broadband network, which connects to over 16.1 million homes in the UK

Earlier this year, the BT-owned firm revealed 17 million homes had been successfully upgraded to the speediest full-fibre internet connection. These next-generation connections offer download speeds up to 1,600Mbps.

Openreach works with over 650 individual service providers across its network, including Sky Broadband, BT, EE, TalkTalk, Plusnet, and many others. Since these brands all rely on the same underground cable running to your property, you can switch between these providers and access the same download speeds.

Sky Broadband says its latest discount makes the full-fibre plan it's "lowest ever price"

GB NEWS

According to figures published by Ofcom, the average home broadband speed in the UK sits at roughly 73Mbps. If you upgrade to any of the 300Mbps full-fibre plans listed above, you'll enjoy 4x faster download speeds — meaning you can stream high-quality video, back up photos to the cloud, download software updates, and make video calls with friends and family anywhere in the world without any buffering.

If you're unsure about what broadband speed you need in your home. We've put together the average download speeds for an hour-long television show episode in Standard Definition (SD), roughly 450MB in size.

  • 73Mbps, the average broadband speed in the UK: 54 seconds
  • 150Mbps, the lowest speed available with most full-fibre packages: 24 seconds
  • 300Mbps, the speed currently at its "lowest ever price" with Sky: 12 seconds
  • 500Mbps, widely available from all full-fibre providers: 7 seconds
  • 1Gbps (or 1,000Mbps) is not available from all broadband companies: 4 seconds

Data published by Ofcom reveals that over 7.4 million UK households are currently out of contract with their existing broadband provider and could switch to a new subscription with no fees.

Moving to a new broadband plan or provider unlocks faster speeds and lower prices, since these firms regularly save their best deals for new subscribers. Loyalty is very rarely rewarded.

If you haven't switched to Sky Broadband before — or previously held an account, but have been with another broadband provider in recent years — there's never been a better time to secure this Full Fibre 300 discount.

Sky Broadband's "lowest ever price" on its Full Fibre 300 plan will end at 11.59pm on May 7, 2025.

Fortunately, it's not the only broadband supplier with a price cut available.

EE has unleashed one of the most enticing new offers to attract switchers. For a limited time, switch to EE and your broadband bills will be slashed to £0 for the first three months of your new contract. Yes, really.

That means you'll pay nothing for internet until July or August at the earliest.

EE isn't offering free broadband across all of its plans, but one of the full-fibre packages included in the generous giveaway is the same Full Fibre 300 that's been slashed with Sky Broadband.

EE Full Fibre 300 includes a guaranteed minimum speed of 150Mbps and no upfront cost. At the end of the three months of £0, EE will charge £36.99 a month for these speeds.

That rises to £39.99 in March 2026, following the latest Ofcom rules that requires broadband brands to spell out price rises "in pounds and pence".

Switch to EE full-fibre broadband and pay £0 for the first 3 months

For a limited time, EE is offering free broadband for the first 3 months of your contract. Available on speedy full-fibre packages, like EE Full Fibre 300 and the all-singing, all-dancing Made For Gamers package with the new Wi-Fi 7 hub and 1.6Gbps download speeds. If you're not outside of your current contract, EE will contribute up to £300 towards early exit fees

Plusnet has slashed the price of its fastest full-fibre broadband plan to just £36.99 a month.

For that, you'll benefit from eye-watering download speeds of 900Mbps.

For context, that's over 11x faster than the average home internet speed as measured in the UK earlier this year — so you'll have no problem downloading large files, streaming movies in the highest quality, or making stutter-free video calls at peak times.

The price of this broadband plan mirrors exactly the comparatively slower Full Fibre 300 package from EE, with the annual price hike bringing the monthly cost to £39.99 a month from March 2026 onwards. Like the latest broadband deals from EE and Sky, there's no upfront cost to worry about.

While Plusnet isn't waiving the monthly cost of your broadband for the first three months of your contract, new subscribers will benefit from a £100 Reward Card sent to them in the post.

This takes the form of a pre-paid Mastercard debit card which can be used anywhere that accepts Mastercard... which is pretty much everywhere.
