Reddit is experiencing a "partial outage" worldwide, the comnpany has confirmed.

Thousands of users flooded social media with complaints about Reddit experiencing problems on desktop web browsers and via mobile apps, including the official Reddit client on Android and iOS. At the time of writing, when attempting to load a post on Reddit, you'll be confronted with a message that reads: Oops! Something went wrong.


Reddit users cannot read existing posts or share new content on the platform.

The social media firm has acknowledged the fault. In a statement, Reddit confirmed that it had "identified the cause of the issue" and is actively "working to address it".

Its status dashboard, which shares information about any ongoing problems with the service, confirms a "partial outage" across Desktop Web, Mobile Web, and Native Mobile Apps. The latter includes Android and iPhone.

Other systems, like the ability to process new comments or identify spam posted on Reddit, are running as usual.

According to the independent web service Down Detector, which tracks outages based on reports across social media, thousands of Reddit users have been impacted by the issues. Over 107,431 people have flagged issues with Reddit in the United States every minute.

In the UK, Down Detector has tracked complaints from over 14,000 people who are struggling to use the social news platform. Reports of an outage first started to trickle in around 5.00pm BST.

Reddit had also experienced an outage last month which affected nearly 31,000 users.
