25% increase coming to Sky Sports pass

Watching Sky Sports is about to get much more expensive. NOW, formerly known as NOW TV, has increased the price of its Sky Sports pass by 25% in the latest price hike.

That increases the cost of a one-day pass for Sky Sports from £11.99 up to £14.99. This remains the most affordable way to watch Sky Sports via NOW, with the only other option being the Sky Sports month pass, which costs £34.99. This month-long subscription will not increase in price, NOW has confirmed.

The price hike kicked in May 30, 2024.

NOW unlocks access to all 12 Sky Sports channels, including Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports F1, and Sky Sports Main Event without a lengthy contract.

NOW lets you watch exclusive sports coverage for just 24 hours via its Sky Sports pass. Without the streaming service, the shortest contract available for Sky Sports is 30 days via a Sky Glass TV or Sky Stream set-top box.

Speaking about the increased cost for the one-day pass, a spokesperson for NOW said: "We always try to keep prices as low as possible while continuing to offer the best member experience and flexible access to Sky Sports unrivalled sports coverage.

NOW TV has increased prices for the one-day Sky Sports pass by £3 — a 25% rise compared to the previous price tag

NOW TV

"NOW is the only place you can stream Sky Sports just for the day and our members continue to enjoy all the action from the Premiere League, F1, Women's Super League, as well as new sports rights and channels such as our brand new Tennis Channel which will show the ATP and WTA Tours and later in the year expanded football action as Sky Sports becomes the exclusive home of the EFL."

While there's nothing you can do about the higher cost for the 24-hour Sky Sports pass, if you're planning on streaming a couple of football matches or F1 races during the month, it will likely be much more cost-effective to upgrade to a one-month subscription for £34.99.

For a limited time, NOW has cut the cost of this 30-day pass by 25% when you commit to a minimum 6-month contract, lowering the price to just £26 per month. The deal also includes an upgrade to High Definition (HD) picture quality for one month at no extra cost via NOW Boost (usually £6 a month).

The cheapest way to watch Sky TV channels is not with NOW — but via Sky Stream instead.

That's because Sky TV is offering a 30-day free trial for its Sky Entertainment bundle and complete Netflix subscription with its latest set-top box. Cancel anytime during the month-long trial and you'll pay nothing.

Sky Stream orders arrive with next-day delivery at no extra cost, so you could be streaming the latest shows exclusive to Sky TV this time tomorrow. Sky Sports is available as an optional extra, with one-month access cut to just £20 in the latest deals.

Elsewhere, TalkTalk broadband customers can save 33% when they bundle NOW.

With the basic NOW Entertainment pass for just £9.99 — TalkTalk users can save £5 every month. Anyone who takes up the deal will also receive a NOW Boost included (usually £6 a month), so they can enjoy streaming in Full HD, ad-free and with brilliant Surround Sound on up to three devices at once instead of one.

TalkTalk TV is a small set-top box that supports 10,000+ apps from Google Play, on-demand players like BBC iPlayer, ITVX, and Channel 4, as well as 70+ live television channels beamed over Wi-Fi.

The box can be controlled via voice commands with Google Assistant built into the remote, 4k Ultra HD quality, native Chromecast support, and Dolby Atmos sound compatibility. If you want to add Sky Sports to TalkTalk TV, you'll need to spend an extra £34.99 per month for a one-month NOW Sky Sports pass.
