It's never too early to get into the festive spirit

  • Freeview, Sky, Virgin TV unlock a channel to watch your favourite Christmas shows
  • You'll be able to stream your festive favourites until January 6, 2026
  • Christmas movies and TV shows can be streamed via Great! Player
  • You'll need a UK TV licence to begin watching these programmes

Believe it or not, you can start watching your favourite Christmas films and shows today.

Freeview, Sky TV, and Virgin Media viewers are being offered an all-new channel packed with 172 Christmas films to enjoy between now and December 25, 2025. Dubbed Great! Christmas, you'll be able to enjoy festive programming like My Sweet Holiday, Christmas Wedding Planner, and My Christmas Wish at no extra cost.

Best of all? You can watch these festive films and seasonal shows until January 6, 2026 when the temporary channel will be wrapped up. You'll be able to watch on Freeview Channel 52, Sky Channel 319, and Virgin Media Channel 424, where it temporarily replaces Great! Romance for its four-month festive takeover.

If you're watching on a different device that isn't listed above, there's no need to miss out — you can stream all 172 Christmas films on-demand from almost any device via the Great! Player.

Freesat viewers, unfortunately, won't have access to the temporary Christmas channels. This is because all the Great! Channels were removed from Freesat's satellite platform in 2024.

If you're not familiar, the Great! lineup of channels used to be owned by Sony Pictures Television, before switching over to the Great! TV network operated by Narrative Entertainment. This platform specialises in feel-good entertainment, from romance to family favourites, action-adventure titles to seasonal specials.

Great! Romance usually runs year-round, pausing only for the Christmas takeover, while Great! Movies deliver a wider variety of films throughout the year. All content is available on the Great! Player app and traditional TV platforms, giving you flexible ways to watch.

Freesat viewers, unfortunately, won't have access to the temporary Christmas channels. This is because all the Great! channels were removed from Freesat's satellite platform last year.

The lineup of Great! channels aren't yet accessible on Freely, the Wi-Fi-only platform designed by Everyone TV that'll eventually supersede Freeview — with some estimates suggesting this'll happen before the end of the decade.

As always, when watching live television broadcasts in the UK, you'll need to be covered by a valid TV licence to watch the latest Christmas flicks. A standard UK TV Licence costs £174.50 per year and is required to watch or record any live TV, download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer, on any device.
