The latest 4K TV from Hisense is almost half-price for the next 48-hours
Upgrading to one of the next-generation Smart TVs powered by Freely has never been more so affordable.
As well as cutting prices across its own Fire TV models, which will unlock access to Freely later this year, Amazon has slashed a flagship 4K Ultra HD from Hisense to its lowest-ever price in the Prime Big Deal Days sale.
With an RRP of £699, this 55-inch Hisense Smart TV uses premium Quantom Dot technology for more vibrant colours and deeper blacks than traditional LED panels. It also supports flagship picture standards like Dolby Vision and HDR 10+.
And today, it costs just £379 — a saving of 46% on Amazon.
Save £320 on this 2024 model from Hisense, which comes equipped with a Quantum Dot panel with 4K Ultra HD resolution, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, HDMI 2.1 ports, and Bluetooth 5.0 support. You'll be able to watch live and on-demand content from BBC, ITV, UKTV, Channel 4, and Channel 5 using only a Wi-Fi connection, thanks to support from Freely. Looking for the same telly from Argos? You'll need to spend at least £529, while AO.com will charge will charge you £699 for Hisense E77NQTUK.
If you're still unsure of how good this deal is, Amazon still sells its predecessor, launched in early 2023, for £429. That's not to be sniffed at compared to the £699 that model cost at launch — but it's a year older than the Freely-compatible version, which is currently £50 cheaper!
Hisense has equipped its 2024 Smart TV with three HDMI 2.1 ports, which boast several upgrades for those with the latest consoles, like PS5 and Xbox Series X. It also supports Apple AirPlay 2, so you can wirelessly beam photos, videos and music from your iPhone or iPad to the big screen with a tap. There's also Bluetooth 5.0 for more music streaming, plus Dolby Atmos support for audio ouput.
Clearly, this is not an entry-level Smart TV ...but for a limited time, it's priced like one.
If you're looking for a 55-inch Hisense Smart TV with QLED and Freely built-in at Argos, you'll need to fork-out £529. But that's more affordable than AO.com, which is charging £699 for the same telly that Amazon is selling for just £379. It has the model number Hisense E77NQTUK.
For those who don't know, Freely is a brand-new TV platform from the team behind Freeview and Freesat that lets you watch live free-to-air channels from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and more over a Wi-Fi connection. With no aerial, you'll be able to place Freely-equipped TVs anywhere in your home, provided there's a decent internet connection.
On-demand services are deeply integrated into the TV platform, letting you restart a show with a single button on your remote if you've tuned in late and missed the beginning. This is one of a number of Sky Glass features baked into the Freeview successor.
As long as you're covered with a valid TV Licence, everything on Freely brings together live and on-demand content in one place for free. The launch of this broadband-powered platform comes as research reveals half of UK homes will watch TV exclusively over Wi-Fi by 2030.
When streaming via Wi-Fi on Freely, the Mini Guide includes a shortcut to restart the episode from the beginning. With just a tap, the show you're watching will be restarted instantly. There's also a link to more episodes, which could be available on-demand via a catch-up service like ITVX or BBC iPlayer — with no need to navigate away from what you're currently watching live
FREELY PRESS OFFICEWhat's the catch? Well, the generous discount to the 55-inch Hisense Smart TV is only available to those with an active Prime membership — or those who have signed-up for a free trial to the loyalty scheme.
