Available with a choice of USB-C or Lightning port

Looking to upgrade your earbuds this Black Friday? Apple's top-of-the-line AirPods Pro have dropped to their lowest-ever price in the sale.

Usually £229, these wireless 'buds have plunged below £200 for the first time since their debut two months ago. As always, Amazon Prime members (or those who have taken out a 30-day free trialto unlock the benefit during the Black Friday sale) will enjoy next-day delivery at no extra cost.

AirPods Pro promise better sound quality and active noise-cancellation to stamp out any background sounds that might disturb your favourite song, podcast, or show on GB News Radio.

The latest iteration of the AirPods Pro can be charged via USB-C, so you can use the same charging cable for all of your gadgets. Apple also allows you to control the volume with swipe gestures, so you won't have to take your iPhone out of your pocket.

If you'd rather stick with the previous charging cable, the Lightning connection, on the 'buds, then Apple also sells a version with this longstanding port too.

Although AirPods Pro work with any Bluetooth device, they offer a number of unique features when paired with an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

When you take delivery of your AirPods Pro, you'll only need to flip-open the case near to one of these gadgets to summon an on-screen prompt to pair your wireless earbuds. Apple will automatically pair with any other Apple kit you own and intelligently switch between them if you have an incoming call when watching something on your iPad, for example.

You'll enjoy six hours of listening time between charges. The carry case has enough power to recharge the AirPods Pro five times for a total of 30-hours of listening.

The new AirPods Pro are built using 100% recycled rare earth elements in all magnets and 100% recycled gold in the plating of multiple printed circuit boards. The case also uses 100% recycled aluminium in the hinge as part of Apple's ongoing push to be a greener company.

Given this latest generation of AirPods Pro only landed on store shelves in September, this is comfortably the biggest discount we've seen.

For its Black Friday sale, Apple is offering a £40 gift card that can be spent on anything in the Apple Store or App Store when you purchase the same second-generation AirPods Pro.

But sadly, there's no discount on the AirPods Pro themselves, so you'll need to pay the full £229 price tag. That said, this could be a good option if you've got your eye on something else in the Apple Store.

Amazon isn't the only store that's dropped the price of the AirPods Pro. John Lewis, Very, and Currys have all matched the £30 discount seen in Amazon's Black Friday sale too. Unlike other retailers, John Lewis doubles the hardware warranty on all electrical goods, so you'll benefit from a two-year guarantee with the AirPods Pro.

That's one year longer than Apple offers. Meanwhile, Very specialises in payment plans, and Currys offer in-store collection, which could prove handy if you live near a branch of the high street store and want to pick up your new AirPods as soon as possible.
