Jannik Sinner is through to the fourth round of the US Open, but it was what happened after the match that truly lit up social media.
The world No 1, who came from behind to defeat Canada’s Denis Shapovalov 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday, was caught on camera unlocking his phone courtside.
Eagle-eyed fans zoomed in on the footage and spotted what appeared to be his lock screen, with some believing they've spotted a photo of Danish model Laila Hasanovic.
The image quickly went viral, with supporters convinced it confirmed a romance that has been rumoured for months.
Jannik Sinner has been romantically linked with Danish model Laila Hasanovic
|Hasanovic, 24, is best known as the former partner of ex-Formula One driver Mick Schumacher.
The pair were together for more than a year before reports of their split earlier this season.
Intriguingly, Hasanovic has been a regular presence at Sinner’s matches in recent months.
She was seen in his box at both Wimbledon and Roland Garros, where she passionately supported him during his marathon French Open final defeat to Carlos Alcaraz.

Sinner, however, has remained guarded when asked about his personal life.
Speaking before the US Open, he admitted he was “in love,” but made it clear he wasn’t ready to share more.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” he said.
When pressed earlier this year about being seen in Copenhagen with Hasanovic, the Italian dismissed the speculation: “No, no, there was no girl. I had just some business with a couple of photo shootings there. That’s it. Nothing else.”

Sinner’s relationships have often drawn interest from the media.
He previously dated Russian player Anna Kalinskaya, who had also been linked with Nick Kyrgios beforehand, and was later connected with model Lara Leito, once a partner of actor Adrien Brody.
Still, Saturday’s wallpaper moment struck many as the clearest hint yet that Hasanovic is indeed part of his life.
Reactions online came thick and fast.
One fan posted: “Him having his gf’s pic as wallpaper… and they say he’s not a romantic man.”
Another joked: “Goodbye Jannik Sinner in his single era, you were bigger than the whole sky.”
For all the attention on his phone, Sinner’s on-court performance should not be overlooked.
After a slow start against Shapovalov, the defending champion steadied himself with measured baseline play and clinical serving to close out the contest in just over three hours.

He has now won 13 of his last 14 matches in New York, underlining his status as the man to beat at Flushing Meadows.
Next up is Alexander Bublik in the round of 16, a tricky opponent with a flair for the unpredictable. Sinner will need to stay sharp if he is to continue his bid to defend the title he claimed last year.
