Some feel Djokovic, at the age of 38, has become a faded force. The former world No 1 hasn't won a Grand Slam since the US Open in 2023, though did manage to claim gold at the Paris Olympics last summer.
Speaking to CNBC, Sinner hailed his rival and suggested he wanted him to keep playing for as long as possible because he feels 'lucky' to share a court with the tennis legend.
"Every time when you play against Novak it's, it's very, very difficult, because he won so much," he said.
"He has this standing, what no other player has, because of his experience, because of how many Grand Slams he's won.
"But also in the shape he's in with his age, it's just amazing and I would say it's very inspiring for all of us young players, and we are lucky that we can keep watching someone like Novak, because I believe that, you know, he makes us a better player too.
"And you know, the match, it's a rollercoaster because he can raise the level immediately, and so you have to stay there mentally every point and then try to understand what's going on."
Sinner then shed light on his relationship with Alcaraz.
There's a huge mutual respect between the two, who have already amassed nine Grand Slam titles between them.

Alcaraz leads the way with five, while Sinner has four majors to his name.
Sinner says the duo text each other every now and then, while he also insists they still have plenty to do in order to live up to comparisons with the likes of Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray.
"Honestly, I don't think you can compare us with with Rafa, Roger and Novak and Andy too, because, you know, we've just made this happen in the past couple of years, they made it for 15 years," he added.
"So let's see if we can do the same.

Sinner then proceeded to reveal that he'll spend the next few days relaxing and digesting his remarkable Wimbledon win.
