The pair have been performing well at the US Open

Emma Raducanu has revealed what she thinks of Carlos Alcaraz’s new look at the US Open.

The Spaniard shocked fans and players alike when he took to the court with a shaven buzzcut.

The new look didn’t alter the dominant display on the court that we have become accustomed to. Both Raducanu and Alcaraz have sailed through their first two matches and look set to compete for the Grand Slam title.

Raducanu revealed that she was a fan of the new look, saying: “I think he owns it. I think he pulls it off and if you own a haircut like that, then it can work.

“But whatever he does, it's not going to affect what he does on the court

"I'm just happy to see him having fun."

Raducanu is now preparing for her third-round match-up with her former doubles partner Elena Rybakina in her next match.

Not everyone is a fan of the new look on Alcaraz, with friend and rival Frances Tiafoe calling it “horrible.”

The cause of the new look was revealed by Alcaraz, who revealed that it was due to a misunderstanding between him and his brother.

Alcaraz will now go on to face Luciano Darderi in the third round of the men’s draw after putting on a dominant display against Mattia Bellucci.

He defeated the Italian 6-1, 6-0, 6-3 to ease his way into the next stage of the Grand Slam.

Rumours of a relationship between Alcaraz and Raducanu have been circulating for almost a year.

The rumours began after Raducanu was spotted at one of the Spaniards’ Wimbledon final last year, and was spotted watching games this year.

The rumours were heightened when they announced they would be partnering for the US Open Mixed Doubles tournament.

Ultimately, the pairing didn’t make it out of the first round after being comfortably beaten by fellow Briton Jack Draper and his partner Jessica Pegula.

The 22-year-olds have both disregarded the rumours, but it has not stopped the fans from speculating about the pair.

The duo will be hoping they can recreate the success of previous years, as both have claimed the US Open title in the past, with Raducanu claiming her only Grand Slam in 2021, and Alcaraz claiming the first of five in 2022.
