Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz has embraced President Donald Trump's planned appearance at tomorrow's US Open final, declaring it "great for tennis" and a boost for the sport's profile.
The 22-year-old, who secured his place in the championship match with a commanding straight-sets victory over Novak Djokovic on Friday, expressed enthusiasm about performing before the American president.
"I think that it is a privilege for the tournaments having the president from every country just to support the tournament, to support tennis, and to support the match," Alcaraz stated following his semi-final triumph.
The United States Tennis Association confirmed Trump will watch from a corporate suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Trump's appearance represents his first visit to Flushing Meadows in ten years, having been a regular spectator before entering politics.
The Trump Organization previously held a suite beside the broadcast booth but relinquished it in 2017 during his initial White House term.

The president has made numerous sporting appearances throughout 2025.
They include the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the Daytona 500 in Florida, and UFC events in Miami and Newark.

His opponent will be Italy's Jannik Sinner, the defending champion who overcame an injury concern to defeat Canada's Félix Auger-Aliassime in four sets.
The final represents the third consecutive Grand Slam decider between the rivals, with Alcaraz triumphing at the French Open before Sinner claimed victory at Wimbledon in July.
Despite the high-profile attendance, Alcaraz remains determined to maintain his concentration on the match itself.
