Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump were in action at the Hong Kong All-Star Challenge with the crowd treated to a 147 break from the latter.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has been slammed online for seemingly not getting out of his chair to congratulate Judd Trump on his 147 break at the Hong Kong All-Star Challenge on Tuesday.

The exhibition event was held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium with Trump and O'Sullivan joining Marco Fu Ka-chun, Jack Lisowski, Kyren Wilson, Mark Williams in the field for the two-day event.

According to reports, some fans splashed out hundreds of pounds on tickets to see the snooker stars in action.

Organisers are also said to have spent around £650,000 to bring the likes of Williams, O'Sullivan and Trump to Hong Kong.

The opening day of the tournament saw O'Sullivan lose narrowly to Williams before the seven-time world champion defeated local hero Fu 5-2 in the evening.

Fans in attendance on Tuesday were treated to a contest between Trump and O'Sullivan - this season's most in-form players having won 10 titles between them.

And Trump, who won his 28th ranking title at last week's World Open, put in a dominant display on the table to beat O'Sullivan 5-2.

It was in the sixth frame though where Trump showcased his skills as he cleared the table for a 147 break.

The small crowd in attendance cheered in every shot as Trump got closer to the maximum break.

And the spectators were on their feet when Trump potted the final black with O'Sullivan seen clapping in his chair.

However, grainy footage of Trump's achievement has led to some criticism for O'Sullivan.

While the 48-year-old can be seen clapping while sat in his chair, some fans felt he showed Trump disrespect by not getting up and shaking his hand.

One viewer fumed: "[He] hates being upstaged, it's just poor because Judd's been nothing but respectful towards him especially after he won his 7th Worlds."

Another moaned: "That's why I went off Ronnie, he can be so rude at times."

A third said: "You can't buy class and as usual Ronnie proves he belongs in the gutter."

One other person asked: "Why didn't @ronnieo147 shake his hand?"

Trump has made eight official maximum breaks in his career but that pales in comparison to O'Sullivan's tally.

No snooker player has hit more than O'Sullivan's 15 147 breaks, although his last official one came back in 2018.

O'Sullivan got out of his chair to congratulate Ding Junhui on making a 147 break at the Masters back in June.

That was the second time Ding had hit a maximum break at the Masters and only the fourth ever time the feat had been done at the Triple Crown event.
