The Lions comfortable took the first test match against the Wallabies

British and Irish Lions fans were left furious after a technical glitch left them struggling to watch the opening test match against Australia.

The broadcasting issue meant that commentary was approximately one to two seconds ahead of the on-screen action, making it difficult for supporters to follow the match properly.

The timing discrepancy proved particularly irritating for Lions fans who had eagerly anticipated the main event following a successful warm-up campaign in Australia.

Despite the technical problems plaguing the broadcast, the Lions went on to secure a commanding 27-19 victory over the Wallabies in what was an impressive display from the touring side.

Australia's Max Jorgensen responded with a try, though Tom Lynagh failed to convert, leaving the hosts trailing.

Tom Curry powered over the line shortly before half-time, with Russell's boot once again accurate to give the Lions a commanding 17-5 lead at the interval.

The visitors had taken complete control of the match, despite the ongoing broadcasting issues affecting viewers at home.

The Lions maintained their momentum immediately after the restart, with Sheehan crossing for a try within the opening minute of the second half, Russell converting to make it 24-5.

Australia mounted a late comeback when Carlo Tizzano scored with just over ten minutes remaining, Ben Donaldson's conversion reducing the deficit to 24-12.

Marcus Smith's penalty appeared to seal the victory at 27-12, but Tate McDermott's converted try with two minutes left narrowed the gap to eight points.

The Wallabies' late surge proved insufficient as the Lions held firm to secure a 27-19 victory in the First Test, taking a crucial lead in the series despite the broadcasting difficulties that had plagued the television coverage throughout.
