The 16-year-old is two victories away from winning the prestigious tournament at Alexandra Palace

Luke Littler has snubbed ITV in order to have a lie-in ahead of his World Darts Championship showdown with Rob Cross on Tuesday.

The 16-year-old booked his place in the last four with an emphatic victory over Brendan Dolan on New Year's Day.

The teenager had gone into that clash after victories over Christian Kist, Andrew Gilding, Matt Campbell and Raymond van Barneveld.

And he operated at the peak of his powers once again, beating Dolan 5-1 to continue his fairytale form.

Next up for Littler is a clash with Cross at Alexandra Palace tonight.

He appears to be prioritising his sleep, with Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid saying he'd turned down an appearance on the ITV show because he wants a lie-in.

Littler will need all of his energy to overcome Cross, who will go into the contest on the back of a stirring 5-4 win over Chris Dobey.

Dobey looked as though he'd sail through to the semis after racing into a 4-0 lead.

Yet Cross came fighting back and has managed to keep his hopes of glory alive.

Littler has warned his opponent he'll take 'some stopping' as his clash with Cross nears.

Speaking after his emphatic victory over Dolan, the youngster said: "It feels unbelievable.

“Brendan was just another opponent in my way and I have brushed him aside and now I am into the semi-final.

“It’s going to take a lot to stop me, based on my performances so far.

"But it is about whatever Luke Littler turns up.

“I have got the ability to go all the way, if it’s not to be tomorrow night, it’s not to be.

“I know I have got a good chance and I have got a good feeling I could go all the way tomorrow.”

Cross, meanwhile, has praised Littler while also revealing he won't let his opponent have it easy on Tuesday night.

“Everyone loves an underdog story,” he said.

“As the public and people looking at the game, everyone loves an underdog story.

“I am not being rude, I am on Luke’s side, I love an underdog story.

“It took a bit of pressure off me winning it first time as well.

“He’s fantastic and he deserves all the luck in the world, he is a nice, young boy.

"Tomorrow we play darts, though, and I have to go down to business.”

If Littler does go all the way, he'll become the youngest world title winner in darts history.
