Andy Murray reacts to British poll after missing Paris Olympics closing ceremony - 'Explains a lot'
The 37-year-old wasn't in France on Sunday, having travelled home following his elimination from the doubles

Andy Murray has been left amused after a poll from YouGov revealed that one in four Britons think they could qualify for the 2028 Olympics if they started training today.
The 37-year-old is currently enjoying his retirement, having played his last professional tennis match earlier this summer.
Murray and Dan Evans went into the Olympics hoping to give the three-time Grand Slam winner the perfect send-off.
Yet though they failed to come out on top, they still brought joy to the nation with some sublime performances out in France.

A poll from YouGov shows that 27 per cent of Britons think they could qualify for a sporting at the 2028 Olympics if they started training today.
A huge 15 per cent of pollsters think they'd be able to qualify for the shooting, with 13 per cent and 10 per cent sure on archery and badminton.
And Murray has seen the funny side, with the tennis legend taking to social media to provide his reaction.
Accompanying his post with two laughing emojis, he said: "Explains a lot of the posts athletes receive on this platform."

Fans also saw the funny side, with one user saying: "Only 3 British athletes qualified for badminton this year….and 10 per cent think they could qualify?"
A second said: "Itll take me four years to lose all my fat. Can't fault some misplaced confidence though."
A third quipped: "Just wait until they make Shelf Stacking an Olympic sport, I'll bring back the gold in my 40's!!"
Another joked: "Even Judy [Murray's mother] would stand a chance at Break Dancing."

And a fifth reacted by saying: "Average people have no conception of what it’s like in the far tail of the distribution where elite sportspeople exist. The 0.0001 plus are in a different world."
Fans had been hoping to see Murray at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics on Sunday night.
But the former world No 1 wasn't present in Paris, having jetted home from France following his elimination in the doubles.
Murray is spending time with his wife, Kim, and their four children.

And Kim recently joked that he'd never have won anything without her cheering him on from the stands.
"There was a period [in 2019] when he was losing almost every week," she said.
"Seeing Andy deal with that on a near daily basis, that was tough.
"My friends would say, ‘Is Andy all right?’ I’d say, ‘Well, your husband is not getting an appraisal in the office on a weekly basis on how well he’s doing, so no, he’s not.’”

She added: “It took a lot out of me to support Andy but I’m proud of the small part I played.
"He definitely couldn’t have done it without me.”
