The 21-year-old will spend the season in Spain

Getafe have shared two videos showing the early stages of Mason Greenwood's time with the club.

The Manchester United striker has joined the La Liga side on loan, with the forward looking to resume his career after charges of attempted rape and assault were dropped back in February.

In the second video uploaded by Getafe, Greenwood meets staff members at the club.

One individual he meets is Marco Rocha, the club's director of communications.

Rocha jokes with Greenwood about the weather, saying: "I am Marco. Welcome to Madrid. I am the head of communications.

"Weather conditions here are better than Manchester."

And Greenwood then joked 'I bring from Manchester' with the sky looking overcast.

Initially, the United forward looked shy and nervous as he adjusts to life in his new surroundings.

But the forward smiles as Getafe do their utmost to welcome him to the club and get his career back on track.

Also in the video, Greenwood bemoans the fact he was unable to play against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Getafe lost 2-1 to Los Blancos on September 2, having taken an early lead through Borja Mayoral.

But Real then turned the game around, with goals from Joselu and England midfielder Jude Bellingham giving them all three points.

The video also shows Greenwood undergoing a medical with the club with his father, Andrew, watching on proudly.

He was also taken to a hotel with his partner, too.

Getafe have been celebrating Greenwood's arrival, delighted at having a player of his calibre at their disposal.

Some have criticised their decision to sign the striker, however.

And figures at the Spanish club have explained their decision, with Getafe boss Jose Bordalas saying: "It is a very delicate situation to trivialise this issue.

"Every[one] knows what happened and the appropriate measures were taken, obviously, we can only talk about football.

"Regarding the other issues, I believe that the people and the relevant authorities did what they had to do and everyone knows how it ended with a non-conviction sentence.

And Getafe sporting director Ruben Reyes has since said: "We did what we do - sign players that are available to sign.

"There is no need for us to handle anything [off the pitch].

"We have signed a footballer who is just the same as (fellow signings) Diego Rico and Oscar Rodriguez, and that's it. We have to do our job, and that's what we focus on."

He added: "It is a year's loan. It's very difficult to get an option to buy on a player (like him).

"He will be here all season. There are internal discussions, but those are small details that we try not to share.

"They [United and Greenwood] appreciated the effort, how convinced we were.

"We're very excited with him. He was a player that we knew was out there.

"Therefore, he is a free person, a footballer of a very high level and who arrives at Getafe with enormous enthusiasm and that we are obviously going to help him so that he recovers back to his best level.

"We worked on it, gathered information and bit by bit we saw that there could be a possibility.

"We spoke to his family, to his dad, to his people for a long time. We were able to convince him to come here, to trust in us. We're satisfied."
