Tyrrell Hatton has made an astonishing confession about his Ryder Cup qualification celebrations that left him in a mortifying state.
The English golfer revealed he woke up covered in his own vomit in an Indianapolis hotel room after a wild night of drinking with teammate Jon Rahm.
The 33-year-old's booze-fuelled celebration came after European captain Luke Donald phoned to confirm he'd automatically qualified for the team.
Speaking at Wentworth ahead of the BMW PGA Championship, Hatton didn't hold back on the gory details of what happened after he'd consumed an eye-watering amount of alcohol.

Things escalated when Hatton knocked back a double gin and tonic before Rahm suggested Disaronno sours.
"They go down very easily," Hatton explained, admitting he then started encouraging everyone to down their drinks as shots.
Once the bar ran out of Disaronno, the bartender whipped up hazelnut sours, which Hatton described as "not great" - though that didn't stop them having several.

The pair then moved on to margaritas before finishing with what Hatton called a "strawberry vodka thing."
"God, it was aggressive. It was horrible," he said of the final concoction.
The celebration came after Rahm had won LIV Indianapolis's individual title on the same day Hatton secured his Ryder Cup spot.

The aftermath was nothing short of a disaster.
"When I got back into the room, I fell across the bed sideways and fell asleep face down," Hatton recounted.
He woke up mid-vomit, fell back asleep, then woke again to find himself in an appalling state.

In his panic, Hatton called his wife Emily, telling her: "I don't know what to do!"
Despite setting an alarm for an early flight, he frantically tried to make the room presentable.
He stripped the bed, left cash for the cleaning staff and penned an apologetic note.
"Really sorry, I was sick in the bed in the night, please throw it in the trash," his message read.

"I feel like I did the right thing upon leaving," he reflected.
Looking back on the experience, Hatton was adamant he never wants to reach that state again.
"I don't ever want to feel that bad the next day. That was aggressive," he confessed.
Despite the horror story, the three-time Ryder Cup veteran hasn't ruled out celebrating hard if Europe manages to retain the trophy at Bethpage later this month.
"I'd like to think that we would celebrate pretty well, and there is a good chance I will be throwing up," he said with typical honesty.
"Hopefully I'm not like falling asleep and I can enjoy most of the night with everyone."
His switch to LIV Golf had complicated his Ryder Cup prospects, making Donald's call confirming his automatic qualification all the more sweet - even if the celebration got wildly out of hand.
