Scottie Scheffler has found himself in unfamiliar territory at the US Open, battling to make the cut after two difficult days at Oakmont.
The world No1 sits joint-69th at five-over par following rounds of 73 and 71.
During the second round the frustration got so severe they eventually boiled over for Scheffler.
After driving into a church pew bunker for the third time this week on the third hole, the American yelled "Gosh dang it" and slammed his driver on the tee box.

He found just six fairways during his second round and hit only seven greens in regulation.
The pre-tournament favourite arrived with momentum from three wins in his last four starts, including a PGA Championship victory, but Oakmont has proven a different challenge entirely.
Scheffler's struggles mark his first back-to-back over-par rounds to start a tournament since last year's US Open.

"I was not getting the ball in the correct spots and paying the price for it," Scheffler said after Friday's round.
His driving woes have been particularly costly at Oakmont, where missing fairways leads to difficult recovery shots.
Despite the struggles, Scheffler maintained a fighting spirit: "Mentally this was as tough as I've battled for the whole day.
"I think with the way I was hitting it, it was easily a day I could have been going home and battled pretty hard to stay in there."
The three-time major winner acknowledged his performance fell short of expectations but refused to concede defeat.
"I'm not in the position I'd want to be after two days, but by no means am I out of the tournament," he said.

Former major champion Rich Beem said to Sky Sports: "Even the best players in the world are going to struggle at a US Open."
Paul McGinley was more direct in his assessment: "Very simply, he's not playing very well.
"There's no part of his game that's anywhere near the standards that he displays week in and week out on the PGA Tour."
Scheffler currently stands at +5 for the tournament and sits tied in 69th spot.
World No25 JJ Spaun currently leads the pack, while Rory McIlroy, like Scheffler, finds himself in a little bit of trouble.
