West Ham star Jarrod Bowen admits to 'awful thing to say' as Chelsea defeat adds to woes
The Hammers have won just one of their first five Premier League fixtures this season

West Ham star Jarrod Bowen has admitted his side were 'never in the game' against Chelsea - while also admitting he knows that's an 'awful thing to say'.
The Hammers have struggled ever since the appointment of Julen Lopetegui back in the summer, picking up just four points from five matches so far.
Chelsea were a class above on Saturday, with Nicolas Jackson bagging twice and Cole Palmer also on target.
Bowen, speaking to TNT Sports, has now fronted up following the disappointing result at the London Stadium.

And the England winger was criticial of his side, saying: "We were never in the game which is an awful thing to say.
"The goals that they scored were easy on our part - two gifts.
"You have to be switched on in every moment. On the pitch it felt quite easy to play through [us], a disappointing day all-round.
"Of course, as a player and captain you have to lead and rally everyone together. We gave them too much respect in the end.

"Disappointing day, we accept the defeat. The game is done and we put it to bed and see what we can improve on. Games are coming thick and fast to put it right.
"We still have a lot of games to go and that is a positive for us."
While it was a poor day for West Ham, it was another good result for Chelsea.
The Blues are now up to second, at least for the time being, after overcoming their London rivals.
Jackson reacted to his brace, with the striker pleased to make it four goals for the season so far.
The former Villarreal hitman said: "[We are] growing higher with my team-mates, they help me a lot and they have confidence in me.
"We keep going. This one is finished and next week we go onto another one.
"The most important thing is for the team to win.

"I am happy to play always. To fight for the team and the team to win is the most important thing."
And Palmer added: "A tough place to come and a good three points, we are happy.
"Everybody knows he [Nicolas Jackson] is a top player - he needs to keep going.
"The Chelsea fans and players rate him highly - we know what he is capable of.

"There will always be noise, we try to block it out and listen to the manager.
"We have a good manager and it can only help us to get better."
