The revamped design now incorporates team crests alongside abbreviated names, mirroring the format used for Premier League broadcasts.

Typography has also been updated, with modifications to the lettering style for team names, scores and match timing.

The visual overhaul brings consistency across Sky's football coverage but has proven controversial among viewers accustomed to the simpler presentation.

A third fan stated: "Hate it, why are the badges so small."

Another viewer expressed their frustration more forcefully: "These new Sky Sports graphics are dreadful. Why change something that wasn't broken?"

Luton won 1-0 in their first match in League One, having suffered back-to-back relegations over the past two seasons.

The Hatters secured victory at Kenilworth Road through an unfortunate own goal by Ryan Johnson, giving them three points in their opening fixture.

Speaking after the win, Luton boss Matt Bloomfield admitted he was pleased to secure all three points.

"We feel like there’s certain things that have gone against us over the last period of time," he said.
