Jamie Carragher has branded Mohamed Salah 'daft' following his row with Jurgen Klopp during Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham on Saturday.

The Egpyt international was omitted from his manager's starting XI after toiling during his side's 2-0 defeat to Everton earlier in the week.

And Salah was unhappy at something Klopp said on Saturday after being introduced during the match at the London Stadium.

The 31-year-old could be seen arguing with his manager, with Salah then saying 'if I speak there will be fire' in the mixed zone.

The argument between the two men has shocked the footballing world given everything they've achieved together.

And Carragher has branded Salah 'daft' following the exchange, with the Liverpool legend also saying there was no need to take sides.

"Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp are both LFC legends. We don't need to take sides!" he said on X.

"Salah is frustrated and angry with Jurgen that he's not playing and at that moment didn't want to fully embrace the boss, Jurgen understandably took exception.

"Mo was daft with his comment in the moved [mixed] zone but let's let them sort it out and enjoy the last few weeks together.

"They've been a massive help to each other in all that's been achieved at the club!"

Klopp signed Salah back in the summer transfer window of 2017.

The winger had previously been seen as a Chelsea flop after struggling to fulfil his potential over at Stamford Bridge.

Salah has since established himself as a modern day great of the game, however, by netting 210 goals for Liverpool.

He was also instrumental as the club won the Champions League in 2019, with the Reds then securing Champions League glory the following year.

And it'll now be intriguing to see what happens next.

Klopp is leaving Liverpool, with Arne Slot poised to take over amid claims he has 'verbally agreed' to move to Anfield at the end of the season.

With Salah, his future is currently shrouded in uncertainty.

There is a sense the winger is approaching the twilight years of his career, despite being Liverpool's top goalscorer with 24 strikes to his name.

Clubs from Saudi Arabia were interested in signing Salah back in the summer, with Liverpool rejecting a world-record bid for their prized asset.

Therefore, it's not unfeasible interest will be reignited.

Alan Shearer, meanwhile, has said he understands Salah's annoyance with Klopp - while also admitting the Liverpool star 'hasn't hit the heights' of old.

"We don't know what Klopp has said to him there, he's said something that has riled him," he said.

"He's obviously got the right hump with being left out and probably rightly so.

"Even though he hasn't hit the heights that Mo Salah has done over the years, he's been unbelievable.

"Ignores Jurgen, gives the Liverpool fans a little round of applause and goes straight down the tunnel but we're guessing as to what Jurgen said to him.

"I understand if Mo has got the right hump because the number of times he's been Liverpool's saviour and Liverpool's superstar.

"He's got 17 in 25 league starts. Anyone else you'd look at that and think that was unbelievable. It's a shame it's going to end like that."
