Former Manchester United boss has offered the star a way out of Old Trafford

Jose Mourinho could come to Manchester United’s rescue by offering Jadon Sancho a route out of his Old Trafford nightmare.

Sancho is desperately looking for a move away from the Red Devils, with Ruben Amorim adding him to the list of wingers at the club that the club are looking to offload.

Mourinho’s Fenerbahce would be willing to pay £15million for the English international - a far cry from the £73m Manchester United paid Borussia Dortmund - and would also match his £10million-a-year wage demands, according to The Sun.

The move would represent a £58m loss on Sancho in just four years since his arrival and is a telling figure in United’s woeful recruitment over the last decade.

However, with the winger’s £300,000-a-week wages, it would remain positive for United to get him off the books.

United boss Ruben Amorim has also made it clear that Sancho, along with others, are not in his future plans and they should look to leave the club, with Mourinho's Fenerbahce the perfect suitor.

Mourinho’s side finished second in the Turkish Super Lig last year, 11 points from runaway victors Galatasaray.

While the move could work wonders, the relationship between the pair could blow hot and cold, with both Mourinho and Sancho being no strangers to manager-player disputes.

During Erik ten Hag’s reign, Sancho was relegated to under-21 training for failing to give enough effort in training, with the winger retaliating by saying he had been made a ‘scapegoat’, something that would not go down well in Mourinho’s books.

Mourinho has also managed player disputes publicly throughout his career, most notably while at United when he clashed with the likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.

Sancho, though, will be looking for a drama-free season in order to get his career back on track.

The 25-year-old's time at United has been a nightmare from start to finish.

The £73m deal from Borussia Dortmund promised then-Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a world-class English winger who had torn it up in the Bundesliga - it delivered anything but.

With 12 goals in 83 appearances at the club, Sancho was shipped back on loan to Dortmund in 2024 - where he managed to reach a Champions League final.

After returning, Ten Hag pawned him off on loan yet again - this time to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

While the 25-year-old made 41 appearances for the Blues this year and scored a stunning goal in the Conference League final, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca tried but failed to keep the London-born winger.

His salary was a sticking point for the Blues, who ended up paying an astonishing £5m penalty to United for not making the move permanent.

Sancho is likely to be joined out the exit door at Old Trafford by fellow want-away winger Alejandro Garnacho, who posted a cryptic photo in an Aston Villa shirt on Instagram recently, Manchester-born Marcus Rashford is also surplus to requirements, as well as Antony.

The evident winger problem represents everything that has been wrong with United’s post-Sir Alex Ferguson recruitment.

Sancho and Rashford currently sit on whopping £300,000-a-week deals, whereas Antony, who is said to be willing to take a 30 per cent pay cut to leave, sits on £150,000-a-week.

The players on United’s books, who both player and club are desperate to part ways, represent expensive risks for any team interested, and therefore a very difficult sale.

Rashford spent the second half of the season on loan at Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, but the club have opted against their £40m option to buy.

Unlike Rashford though, Sancho has Mourinho as a potential escape route from his Old Trafford nightmare.
